The inaugural season of the Redline Derby Racing Fantasy League opens on Sunday, March 28 at 11PM ET. Make your picks early for the first races that will be held the weekend of Saturday, April 3 April 10 & 11. The competition should be fierce, and if you haven’t signed up to play in the beta, now is a great time to do so and get a look before the season officially starts. Did I mention it’s free!
UPDATE: Please note the first race of the season has moved to the weekend of April 10 & 11.
Get ready to race
After months of development and several weeks of beta testing, the official Fantasy League racing season is ready to start. The Fantasy Racing League is just what it sounds like, you pick your favorite Hot Wheels cars, I race them, and you get points based on how they perform. It’s a chance to geek out about Hot Wheels and enjoy some racing with other people when meet-ups in your area might be few and far between.
PLAY NOW: Sign-up for the Fantasy Racing League
The Fantasy Racing League will run in three seasons: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each season is 10-weeks long with at least one race event per week, hopefully more if schedules permit. All the cars get ratings that go up and down each week based on wins and losses throughout the season. Players earn points for winning races plus possible bonus points. The player with the most points at the end of the season will be the winner.
Fun for everyone
If you’re new to diecast racing or collecting, all the information you need to know about picking fast cars to build a winning team can be found throughout the Redline Derby Racing blog and messages boards. And you can be sure that future posts will focus on winning strategies and highlight certain cars in the field…all of which can be used to guide your team selection.
If you’re already a diecast racer, then consider the Fantasy Racing League a research tool that will not only be fun to play with first hand, but you can use all the data we collect to help you get the edge in local club races in your town. But no matter how hardcore you are into diecast racing, the Fantasy Racing League is easy toy fun for everyone.
To those that have helped
If you were involved with the beta races over the past few weeks, please note that at 11PM ET on 3/28, all garages will be emptied and scores will be reset to zero. All car ratings will also be standardized at the 1200 starting level. The only exceptions are those cars previously raced in The Great Race and any FTE model cars, they will get rated higher/lower accordingly.
Also, another big thanks to everyone that has helped me test the game up to this point. Your feedback and reports have helped shape the fantasy league into what it is today. I look forward to a fun opening season and hope it can keep going for quite some time.
