The second season of the Redline Derby Racing Fantasy League has now officially opened and there are few differences from last season. I’ll take you through each of the stages during this opening week to help new players learn the ropes, and help veteran players see what’s new.
Stage one, car entry

Enter a car to win more points
The first stage of every tournament is car entry. Every tournament has an open date and will shown on your dashboard as open. On this day players can enter any one car into the tournament as their car. Players only have a limited time to enter a car, usually three days. However, there are only 16 spots available in each tournament, so once 16 players enter a car that’s it. There can only be one entry of each car per tournament, so if someone else enters the car you wanted to enter first, too bad, you’ll have to pick a different car.
Why enter a car?
You are not required to enter a car in a tournament. As more players join the league and play, the less likely it is you’ll be able to enter a car in a tournament, but that’s okay. The most you’ll get from entering a car in a tournament is 50 points, and that’s ONLY IF the car you enter wins the tournament. That’s mean if you enter a car and don’t win, or don’t even enter a car, you’re not down or out. Entering a car is simply a bonus.
Using your garage to enter a car
This opening stage is when using your garage comes in handy. Adding cars to your garage will save you the time of surfing through what could be hundreds of other cars during the entry period. When you choose to enter a car, you have to pick a car that sits within the tournament restrictions of class and rating. The game will automatically filter cars for you and it will show you cars in your garage first.
Remember that entering a car into a tournament is first come, first served, so knowing what car you’re going to enter early will help insure you are able to do just that. Also keep in mind that you cannot change your car entry once it is made, so make sure it’s the car you want.
For the hardcore players
Bottomline, entering a car into a tournament is for hardcore players. It requires diligence to login when a tournament opens to make sure you get to enter the car you want. A tournament opens automatically on the date, and that means midnight (eastern time), so there’s a good chance all the action could happen and be done before 1am. But don’t worry, there is no penalty for not entering a car and you’ll be able to make the 50 points easily during stage two bracket picking.
