If you have a photo, feel free to join the Forums and post it there. Sharing photos here in the blog isn't that easy unless you have the photo up on Flickr or Photobucket somewhere.

Can't wait to see your version of the gate!

The finish line in the videos and the current finish line I use for all racing is from the Hot Wheels V-Drop Playset.

It came with the V-Drop set that doesn't have the jump. Got mine at Target for $15 or so.

That's a good point and something I think probably all of us do, buy two. I know I do. I usually buy two of the same model so I have one that is stock, for display or racing, and one for modding it's a cool body style that I want to paint or customize.

I have boxes full of unopened Hot Wheels, I would not think of opening a blister pack.
That was back when, now I can't wait to open the package the cars are much better out of the package Some times If the car is really Cool I will buy two and open one up just to display.

I used a Dremel with the grinding bit to remove the axle. However, on a metal chassis you have to be extra careful because there's a good chance of bending the axle if the grinded metal is weird.

To get axles back on chassis - metal or plastic - I just use JB Kwik, an epoxy steel (liquid steel). JB Kwik is a great general purpose material when it comes to Hot Wheels.

Here's some previous posts on axles and JB Kwik
