After seeing Fast Fortress in a review, it looked like a model that would be great parts even if it didn’t have the traits of a good racer. After finding this mainline and an inspection, it may still be good for parts but in an unexpected way.

What makes some Hot Wheels faster than others? Given we’re on a very tiny scale it’s often hard, if not impossible, to come up with a actual formula for making your cars speed demons. But one factor that often determines if your car even makes it to the finish line is wheelbase.

After seeing this model being featured over at BattleGrip.com, I now have a new shopping target – the Fast Fortress. I haven’t found one on the pegs yet, but if I find it you better believe I’ll be grabbing one or two – for the wheels!
