Just an fyi, if you have a Chrysler 300 frame laying around, it just happens to fit perfectly in a Monte Carlo Stocker body...correct wheelbase, just a little clearance work to do...

Spent 8 hours on the highway driving over 425 plus miles all the way across Washington and Oregon stopped at my son's house over night then another 70 miles to Seattle.  5 hours sleep in a motel with pool table like bed.

Then a doctors exam for 15 minutes to tell me my eye is too infected to operate on.  Given heavy duty antibiotics and told to come back in a couple of weeks to do it all again.  Next time I'm flying.  The antibiotics seem to be working well my eye looks much better already.....sorry to whine so much fellas, but damn.....any how we shall see what we shall see.........Stroller.........btw poor Eilene, "Clayfeat"  did all the driving.  She is my hero and my best friend.

  • That is a lot of windshield time...glad to hear the medication is working. Hang in there! — Traction-Event
  • bad back is nothing compared to a bad eye... been on that ride... — model40fan
  • oh man! hang in there! I'm glad the antibiotics are doing their thing! — 72_Chevy_C10

Can't enter this guy for 2 reasons

1: I live in Australia

2: It was involved in the only on track accident that any of my cars have broken in. It's front axle holder is stuffed and it is not a hot wheels so I am still on the lookout for fitting wheels.

Was once my 3rd fastest car. Damn. (Sorry for quite unnecessary post but I had to put my car's transition from 3rd fastest to 3rd slowest somewhere, right?)

  • If you're interested I can tell you the story of how it broke — MattCat
  • please share the story. — model40fan
  • Australia....that explains the upside down photo....lol. Yes on the story — Traction-Event

Well, it started with a semi final race of the not Hot Wheels cup, a race I ran with my own cars. This was on a 4 lane track. A matchbox BMW X5 was in the 4th lane and the Black Hawk in the 3rd lane. The BMW and the Hawk had quite bad starts, and the BMW and the hawk were driving on the same track wall. Now, in the middle of my track back then, there was a crack between lane 3 and 4 in the track wall. The BMW lost control, flipped diagonally and it's rear view mirror (The BMW has really big rear view mirrors) http://s1290.photobucket.com/component/Download-File?file=%2Falbums%2Fb521%2FMattCat01%2Fimagejpg1_z...  (Biggest rear view mirrors on a toy car I've ever seen!) went into its open side window, and at the end of the crack, the hawk's right wheels went over the track wall and broke the axle holder. I can't find fitting new wheels, it's not even a branded car! All it says on the bottom is 'made in China'. That is the story of the only on track car breaking I have ever experienced. Told my cousin about this when it happened but he didn't believe me. When it goes down the track it emits a klunking sort of sound. Has this ever happened to any of your cars?

Not to me, but I have repaired a few racers before we ran them, we drill a small hole and press a dab of jb quick into it and then press the axle into that...   But some matchbox cars have the axles secured by having a plastic strip press both axles down, it is as a sort of suspension [spring] ... With age that strip could have snapped...Or it may have just been asking to be modded...

Not much good now, maybe drill the rivets and take a look, drill a small hole and dab jb quick into it to secure the axles... FIRST MODD !.....  go matt go !

I think I found car #2 for this race...might be too heavy...65g in the blister...I'll have to free it and check for sure.

  • 52g out of the package...in....widest track I've ever seen in HW axles — Traction-Event
  • be careful. the starting ramp of the sixlane is kinda narrow..somewhere between 1 3/8 and 1 1/2 inches — Stroller
