Collecting and OrganizingESTATE SALE FTE AND T HUNT SCORE

This was a Hot Wheel collector's dream. My wife found this estate sale on Craig's List about an hour before I had to go to work on Saturday. So we rushed there and I spent about a half hour looking through Treasure Hunts (those pics will come later). On Sunday I got to go again, but this time I had more time and was able to go through a bunch of boxes and found some FTEs at 2 for $1.00.

I'll post the pictures of the Treasure Hunts I found and then some racing-quality cars like Ferraris and Shadow Jets as well later.

Uh oh. You found a Bugatti FTE! I know GspeedR is going to be jealous of that score...

Great finds JDC!

Who owned that estate, Mr Mattel? Damn, that's a ton of cars! I could spend hours combing through those bins. And at that type of sale I wouldn't feel like a weirdo like I do when I comb through the bins at the grocery store.

I need to be a bit more proactive in looking for cars around here. I just don't think about it until I see one of you guys post a big score and then I get jealous. One weekend I need to do a Hot Wheels buying tour and just go from store to store in one afternoon...like a pub crawl (every TH found, you take a drink). Ha!

DAMN! I hoped you bought them all to sell some to me! That is nuts

Yes...picture a man dooling profusely. And I believe those `69 Charger FTEs are also worth their weight in gold.

I would have gone crazy in there...and I already have too many cars.

The Motherload!
It'd be nice if that was 'round here. I need to fill in a few gaps in my FTE collection

It's a total thrill to find FTE cars I didn't know existed

I was soooo happy to find a couple of the 2001 Treasure Hunt Edition 442s

The sale must not have been thoroughly advertised because there really weren't a ton of collectors there like I thought there might be. Because there are still a ton of Hot Wheels left after the first two days, I believe there will be a phase two of this sale within 2 to 3 weeks. I've already got seattlegreyy on the hook for that one. I wish all you guys could somehow get up here for the coming Hot Wheel extravaganza

*ALSO: if you see anything you would really like to have, PM me. I would be willing to trade a few doubles and even sell some T-Hunts for what I paid for them.
Because I ended up spending a bit more than I originally planned, I'm gonna end up putting at least half the T-Hunts on eBay. I'd like to get an average of $5 per car (what I paid) if possible. *Excluding the 442s (of course ) and the Super T-Hunt and Dairy Deliveries.

Amazing! I use an android app called CraigsNotification. As soon as someone posts anything with the term hot wheels on Craigs List, I get a notification on my phone for the areas I want it to track. But I have NEVER run across anything like this. I would be in heaven.

The only bad part of the app is that if you have a HOT car to sell with Wheels or a HOT Plate and chrome WHEELS at a garage sell, it picks up on those as well.

Believe me, I wished I could have taken all the time in the world and looked through every box there and at every single car. Too little time and a crying baby (mom was sooo patient) meant that wish would not come true. But hell, I shouldn't really complaint, right?

PM sent

PM also sent...but not about the Bugatti, since I only see 1 of those.

Wow Jim, some sweet finds for sure.

Yeah, another awesome bunch of cars.

This weekend is round 2 of the Estate Sale. I wasn't able to go yesterday as I was out of town. My buddy Daniel went and said that they put all the mainline Hot Wheels into boxes of 25, 75 and 150: $25 for the 75 count and $50 for the 150 count. The only thing is that these boxes are resealed and there's no way of knowing what you're getting. Kind of a gamble, but at 3 for a $1, I'll take that risk -got to be some fast cars in there somewhere and if not, some good mod/custom fodder.

A few more finds:

this GMC Motorhome's all metal

Lots of Luminas: these came all together in a ziplock for around 50 cents a car.

I also bought a large box of blue cards. I'll post the pics of my favorite from that box a bit later.

wicked good haul... side splitter on the right card will pay your heating bill for a couple years...i think warman's says $3500.00 for the col. # 271..... i have the extra car card like your's

Yes I wish, but these are all two packs and not the single #271 Side Splitter.

Not as exciting as my first finds, but here are a few castings I found in my grab box.
All metal/potentially fast...

These all came in a large ziplock bag. Some interesting castings with slick paint. I'll have to have a 'Holiday' car race to see which are fastest

WOW!
Lots of nice stuff

I got some super deals on these cars, yet my wife's thinking I've spent my quota on Hot Wheels for this year now

Let us know how that World Race pickup is. That truck was the top truck for our racing league until I found an 09 Ford F150 that can beat it. That is the only truck the world race pickup has lost to.

I picked that truck up because I had a feeling it might be fast. Thanks for the info Iowa
