Looks like we are going to get a good turnout for our inaugural Modified Race on Sunday February14th!

Make sure to mail all your cars to 7 Vista Drive, Lincoln, RI 02865 attn. Jeremy Morin. Make sure dry lubricants, 100 grams or less and the rivets are drilled out. We will be holding onto all the first place winners. First place winners will win a trophy.

Aircooled we would want to hold on to them so there is no problem in the December Finals of someone forgetting to ship them back to be raced.

If anyone has an issue with us holding on to them we can ship them back you will just need to include shipping money.

I've raced Pine Wood Derby cars for 5 plus years and we mail them out with a return label included.  I think including the cost of return shipping good idea.  Not sure why someone would send a car out to race in February and have it stay there till December 2016 to race again.  There might be a re-prep or something else needed before the car races again in December race.  Also, I have another question can a winning are only be raced once in the series?  It would seem to me that a person with a winning car should be able to run it in every race if they choose to.  Hope you don't mind the questions, just trying to understand the rules.

Aircooled, yes once a car wins its Retired and shelfed until the December Finals when we race all 11 winners fo the fastest Modified of the year. No problem on asking questions!

I have a question to all of you Modified Racers??? We are thinking only dry lubricants like graphite if we allow everything would that harm the hot wheels track like oils?

  • From what I understand, the oil is not good for the track — 72_Chevy_C10

Yes we are only allowing dry lubricants such as graphite.

Can you post the link to see a picture of the track that will be used?  How long is it, how high is the drop and how many degree's is the slope? Thanks

Guys I got this from Jeremy over at LJLRC.

Track details, the track on the left is the track that the Modified Class will race on. Its 25 ft long 5 ft at the starting line for height. Thank you

  • How long is that drop hill, looks like half the length? Like 10-feet or something? — redlinederby

Traction-Event, thanks for posting that.  Looks like a very nice set-up for sure.  Stopping area looks a little short.

Aircooled the picture is hard to tell but there is plenty of room in the catchbox. Are you mailing cars in?

RedlineDerby the total length of racing surface is 24 ft. Hill is 12 ft and 12 ft of run off. Its a very fast track! Our 4 lane track on the right is a little shorter at around 23 ft. Of racing surface with a much more gradual incline.
