Matchbox 61st Anniversary Mail-In Series
Congrats, D6! That is an EXTREMELY fast car you've got there (and I hate to say it, but I had to vote on it over even my own in the beauty pageant). I love the R8s.
Now, there are a couple options to how we can host this race. First, we can do it at home, like we usually do; OR, we can bring the cars to the Pontiac Festival this Saturday at the Crown Plaza Hotel in RI, and race them on the LJLRC's four-lane track (I'll check with Jeremy to make sure that's all right--I'm sure it would be). I don't think any RLD events have been held on the four-lane before (which is essentially just a little shorter than the main track...maybe with some difference in incline, and different velcro underneath the orange track itself). Also, if you want us to do that, let me know if you want us to just run two lanes, or make it interesting and try four for a change of pace (which would probably affect how [many] points were given, as well as placement).
Hmmm.... if TE can make the points work for the 4 Wide track, then feel free to run them on that! That would be pretty cool to see!

All right--two lanes is good. I know four would be weird for the series, but I thought I should throw the possibility out there. Cameron, I'd use the two inner lanes myself. They're less traveled on and easier to take pictures of if anyone is.

Good point about the pictures--we'll use the middle two.
Given how the track's made, our options are lanes 1, 3, 4, and 6. I remember trying them out at the Kite Festival back in July--at that time, 3 and 4 seemed pretty even (the same car--at least for me--would win in both lanes).
Okay--I drew the bracket tonight for tomorrow's racing (randomly out of a hat--using the number slips very conveniently provided for me by DadvBall from when he used them, I'll do the same for the next person in line), but I put the sheet back into the MBX box and stuffed all the padding back on top, so I'm going to post that tomorrow along with the races and results. There aren't any times given on the four-lane track, but I can try to scribble down a brief note about the distance between the cars to give you an idea of how it all goes down.

All the Pontiac, Other Charity, and RLD races went well today--it was a great time had by all (with some great cars, both 1:1 scale and 1:64 scale)! We raced 2 out of 3 in the middle lanes (most of which only took two), and I jotted down brief notes on each race as it happened. Since we got home late, and I apparently put my back out (I can't think of how else to describe it) around midday, I doubt I'm going to park myself in front of a computer and upload that tonight. (Sounds quite lame for a 17-year-old, I know.) I will try to get that done shortly after the 10:30 Mass tomorrow morning. Stay tuned, and if you don't want it spoiled ahead of time, don't look at the LJLRC's Facebook pages.

87 Hole Shot vs. 77 FOTF--Hole Shot does a little off-roading in one of the runs, FOTF wins
70 Traction Event vs. 91 Morris Mini--TE wins with relative ease
86 Fast Fred vs. 81 K&O--Fred rolled pretty fast, but it wasn't on his wheels; K&O makes his comebacks and comes out on top

96 C10 vs. 92 Morris--Bye-bye, Mini, C10's movin' on
76 FOTF vs. 84 Fat Mike--No matter how fat he may be, Mike's weight didn't bring him down the track in time, giving 76 and easy win
79 Delta vs. 93 Stawka--the Audi does its thing, but with less distance between it and the Bus than I would have thought

88 Hole Shots vs. 69 Traction--TE by car lengths
85 Freddy vs. 75 Webber--Webber's the winner, by a longer shot in the first race than in the second
80 K&O vs. 97 Stroller--K&O coming from behind both wins (I wrote "3-2 Comebacks," whatever that means)
