Matchbox 61st Anniversary Mail-In Series
DadvBall....make sure the parking brakes on my 2 cars are released. I think that was my problem.
Speaking of which--did something go wrong with Stawka's Challenger? I noticed it got much better times in the first round than when it faced my Nissan. Did a wheel get stuck or something?
went back and looked at #94's times... he did lose time in his 3rd and 4th passes...I don't know why... I make it a point to align every car at the start to the best I can... painted lines in the starter box for that... maybe dadvbal can take a peek at his wheels ?
The cars arrive yesterday. After work tonight I opened and inspected every one. Here are the few with issues.
Stroller - #97 gray panel - both axles are loose and the chassis bottoms out. I'll be happy to fix it.
#99 Jag - the weight is loose inside.
Nightstalker - #94 purple Challenger - the weight is loose inside
Morris Mini - #91 Lotus - the weight is loose inside
Delta 6 - #79 Audi - The rear wheels don't turn on the axle too well. I can look at it if you'd like.
Webber Cabin - #73 black Mini (I need to find one of these) - the weight is loose inside
Traction Event - #70 Mercedes 350SL - Windshield is off.
I can open the cars to re-glue the weights if anyone thinks it will make a difference in how it runs so please let me know quickly. I'll check back often to see if there are any replys.
- Mine is ugly, but fast...glass repair only if you have time and its easy, no interior to hold it in place... — Traction-Event
- I'll see what I can do TE! — Dadvball
- I would not object to you r fixing my car....Stroller — Stroller
- Stroller, I went ahead and secured both axles. Also glued and JB's the one weight that came loose in the Jag — Dadvball
- Delta, your rear axle was high on one side causing the top of the wheel to rub on the body. Hope you don't mind I fixed it. — Dadvball
- TE, windshield was glued back in place. Don't know for how long though. — Dadvball
- Nightstalker, Morris, and Webber, let me know if you want me to open your cars to fix the loose weights. — Dadvball
- Sure, go for it, maybe that slowed it down at Smitty's — Nightstalker
- Thank you DvB maybe that will help...Seems like the USPS was playing soccor with our cars.... — Stroller
Thanks for the offer, but no need to glue the weight in the Morris from Weber Cabin. Looking forward to the racing. Thanks for hosting
Good luck to everybody running tomorrow! Looking forward to the results!
Thanks for hosting DadVball!

big field, random pairings, lead to some relatively slow cars moving up the ladder and some quickies onto the trailer... gotta love diecast racing !.... see you in lane two, [well, 1st round anyway]...
