MCM Builder's Open Tournament

MCM & Rustbelt Customs would like to present the BUILDERS OPEN. This race is open to Builder's Choice. I want this to a tournament that any builder can build their favorite car, even if it is an EVO. There are only a couple restrictions, NO Fantasy casting - must be a real production car. Nothing tall, I have one spot that is low clearance. No Franken builds, you can fill windows and open wheel wells but no stretching or combining cars. You can have a truck but center of gravity is VERY important on my track and I find it hard to believe a truck would compete well in this tournament. There will also be a "Best In Show" completion as well, so make those cars looks nice.

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries only
• 60g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entries per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Dry lube only

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Wednesday, 8/28/2024. Racing is scheduled for Wednesday, 9/4/2024. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host. Qualifying runs will be done as cars arrive.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry.

Include at least $8.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Sorry but I will need to request $15 for any entries being returned outside of the USA. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Race format and scoring

Main Event - Top 30 drivers from Qualifying will automatically make it to the main event. The final 2 spots will be filled from the "Race to get in"

Rave to get in - Qualifiers 31-46 will complete in a mini tournament to fill the last 2 spots.

Qualifiers 47 and above will have to try again next time.

All qualifying runs will be filmed and shown on the channel.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
