Redline Outlaws...Official thread

72_Chevy_C10 Thursday, 11/13/2014

The Rules:

-Any style car. It had to start life as a 1/64 scale toy car (I don't want a block of milled aluminum with bearings for wheels). Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, etc...all brands okay

-Can be modded (drilled rivets) or stock

-65 grams and under

-2 cars per person for the initial race. With 4 additional challenge cars allowed (you can send them all at once, as long as you let me know what cars are your initial 2).

-1.3" high max. 3.5" long max, and fits on an Orange track wide

-With the first series, the Top 10 cars will be established by the points. the cars making the List (in the top 10) will remain with me for a month after the race to allow for challenge races. At the end of the month, the stickers will be put on the cars and returned

-List Challenges - The number 10 car is the 'Gatekeeper' and every challenge will start there. A challenge car will first race the #10 car, and if it wins, the #10 will be bumped from the list and the challenge car will then race the #9 car, and so on. The challenges will be posted on RedLineDerby.com

-A person will be allowed to send in 4 additional cars to challenge race.  (And since most cars will not make the list, I encourage challengers to include return postage, or one, un-opened Hot Wheels, 'Prize' car per challenge car).

-A person will only be allowed to have 2 cars on the list at any one time.

-I, 72_Chevy_C10, will be the 'RaceMaster' for the Top 10 list...my decisions are final. If you have a question, please contact me directly (PM me). I will try to be as fair as I possibly can.

-A top 10 car, will get a Redline Outlaw sticker placed on it

-This race will be a recurring race, with the current Top 10 cars being invited back to try to defend their position on the list.

-The first Race will start February 6th (qualifying) with the race taking place on the 7th. I will need hosts for this series

I've had a little re-think on this race, and you will see the changes above. Basically, it will be a normal race, and Top 10 in the points will be the tentative list.

I will keep the cars for a month after the race to allow for any challengers at the the List. After which, the cars will be returned...to be invited back for the next race (I'll try to host one of these races every 6 months or so).

Thanks Guys!

Chris

That's not a bad idea; they stay for a month to defend their position, then they return home to either take care of business there or get tuned up for next time.  Or will they be allowed back (will they be "retired" after they make the list the first time)?  If not...perhaps you could keep track of, say, the top four from each list, and after four seasons of this, have those sixteen race for the Grand Finale Championship...just something to think about.  But I'm in favor of the cars coming home either way, good choice there.

I'm thinking that I'll put this idea on the back burner for now...it isn't really getting any support.

So, maybe it will happen in the future, but let's put it on hold for now.

Although, I think you'll probably see some of the little drivers some time soon! :)

Darn! And here I was going to make a special guest appearance for this one. Well when this gets more interest I will certainly participate, Chris.

  • It's just on hold for now...I'll see if I can stir up some interest in the Spring :) — 72_Chevy_C10
  • I have quite the idea for a car I'm going to build, that will give me time. If it works out it will be a FAST car — KandORacing

We can host for this if you're still interested in doing it!  Amazing it was over three months ago we were planning this...
