Getting ready for the Race on Sunday, and thought about using this BEAST. Its super smooth and all the cars that would crash out in the transition just glide through it with lightning speed. All the cars I've tested...have made it through without crashes. I'm using a 6ft latter to make the ramp for the track and this thing is sweet...now all I need is a few more pieces of track so it can stretch it legs...Yeah Baby! This thing is faster than my seamless 25ft Bunk Board Track. If you don't have this track, do yourself a favor and run to the store now and buy...this thing is SWEET!!!

789mph

I'm confident that your radar gun is broken.

HA!

Didn't the Myth Buster guys say Hot Wheels were going 800 mph, or something like that?

Nope. 800mph is the average speed of a bullet. We wouldn't ever be able to see the cars. Hell, I can out-run some of the cars on my track. I'd say they don't go over 15mph and that might be pushing it. Depends on the slope of the track of course.

Yes your right about 15 mph, but we are forgetting something that's very important...its 1/64 scale. My cars were running my 20 ft track in 1.47 sec and a 20 ft track is right at a 1/4 mile for our size of cars...then the speed is right on the money...do the math after checking out this website I found after getting my HW radar gun. Hey I wanted to be sure the thing was right. And it was...well, most of the time. Here's the site...http://members.shaw.ca/sask.rail/constr ... speed.html

The 789mph speed was taken just after the transition at the base of the ramp...while the over all speed for traveling 18 ft in 1.52 sec was 516mph. Think about it...if a Real life Drag car can do a 1/4 mile in less than 5 seconds...its doing over 300 mph. Our cars are doing the same distance (scale wise) in 1.5 seconds....that's FAAAAAAAAAASSSST!

Just wondering if anyone checked out the website link about calculating speed according to scale size? The Big Race is tomorrow...can't wait to use this track...its going to be some fast action! http://members.shaw.ca/sask.rail/constr ... speed.html

I hear ya...I got mine off Ebay for $39...but I had to pay shipping so it was $54 when I finally got it...but it comes with an electronic finish line that you can use on any of your tracks. Hey I figured that was cheap, considering the cost of a JUDGE finish line $200+ Anyhow...I'm looking forward to some fast racing tomorrow.

My Judge was $300. + with the better sensors & ET for the winner. But I also use it on the traveling track for car shows, birthday parties & stuff. Also the AC adapter.

No guessing, only 3 ties thusfar requiring a rerun.

Preacher, were you able to extend the track before the finish line? That sure looks like more than eight foot of raceway.

Oh Yeah...you can extend it and set the finish line where you want it! The beauty of this thing is it is super fast!
