Auto World diecast cars, new brand on the pegs

iowastockcars Thursday, 8/15/2013

Have been waiting on these, and it sounds like they may be on their way. I have read that they may be carried at Wal-Marts. First read about them in my Die Cast magazine subscription that I won from the racing league.

There are three price points. I believe only the lowest price point has the plastic wheels. The package claims smooth and fast rolling wheels. So, we'll see. Might be comparable to the older versions of the Johnny Lightning Cars.

Those cars look amazing! I like the "True 1:64 Scale" because a Porsche shouldn't appear larger than full size muscle car.

It looks like there are chase cars as well for each price point, if you are into that. Some people are trying to sell them for $200+ on Ebay. I guess ask for the moon and see what happens. One actually sold for around $23.

Our new 1:64 scale cars are beginning to show up in stores. Have you found them? Reports from collectors have been exciting to read and hear as they begin to finally show up on the pegs nationwide! Chances are, you may have already found our rare UltraRed version and not have even known it. They look like real cars and only appear as a color variation. Here’s the official scoop: • UltraReds are mixed randomly to the production line. They can literally end up anywhere. • They represent 3% of the total production run. • UltraReds are available in all 3 price points. • Following our Auto World brand colors of red, white and black, all UltraRed cars are painted in our own specially-mixed deep metallic red and will have a secondary white feature or stripe. One could be hanging at a store near you right now. Good luck! -

My hometown Walmart had them earlier this week.
They didn't look like they'd make racers so I passed, good looking cars though.

Judging from the pics, I kind of agree w/Carl. While I roll.

I saw a few of these at Wally World last week. Each is longer than the Hot Wheel and Match Box cars. If I am remembering correctly they where the $5 to $6 price range and I can only remember the two door chevy and a red dodge/plymouth maybe. Has anyone purchased one yet? How did they run?

I haven't bought one yet but I have seen one of the Camaros race @ DCR. Granted, it was only 1 example but it wasn't very fast and it didn't do very well on his track.

Don't go for the two highest price points as they have rubber wheels.

I bought a single low priced one. It was just okay on the track. Wheels spun good on the back, not the best on the front. The wheels intrigued me though. On them, they have just one solid extend piece of plastic on the wheels (less friction on the track). I have been afraid to spend money on another one, if the results are the same. But I said the same thing about the new Hot Ones and I eventually found a few that were really fast.
