Bare Muscle 4 - Official Thread - Race One Sussex
Saturday, September 1st, 2018Muscle Cars...everyone loves them, or has a memory of that neighbor or brother that had a cool Chevelle...or Mustang...or Charger. They are iconic cars that were overpowered and Awesome! And this race is rather iconic as well...when I first started racing on here, I has just missed the first Bare Muscle race. But, I have been involved with the last 2...and they have been pretty epic!
The premise is pretty straightforward...the cars are Muscle Cars, stripped of paint, with only the roof painted a chosen team color. This makes the teams easy to identify going down the track, and because they are Muscle Cars, they look Great!
Here are a list of cars tgat qualify as Muscle Cars (click on 'list', and look under 'Anerican'...

Dates & deadlines

This will be a series race, with CCCRider, League of Speed and NDeavers already offering to host...I will post the dates when they are confirmed. And, if anyone else would like to host, please let me know.
How to enter
Send your entries to:
Chris Raab
9 Sherman Ridge Road
Sussex, NJ. 07461
Include $3.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.
Please print and include a Race ID slip with your entry
Prizes
TBD...but there will probably be some Custom builds up for grabs.
This race has, traditionally, been a WINNER TAKE ALL event, but this has caused some problems in the past, so I will change this a little bit this year.
Each racer will be required to donate at least one of their cars to the prize pool. You will have one 40g car and 57g car, with a third, optional car that can be either weight...just tell me on your entry form which car (if not all of them) you will be donating to the prize pool. And, if you are getting cars back, please include shipping.
Track
The first and last race will be held at Sussex Speedway...scale 1/4 track, using Drag Track sections, a Smitty Starter and a 3DBot finish line
Race format and scoring
This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.
The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.
Bracket seeding will be random but will try to avoid having an entrant race themselves, especially in the first round.
Penalties/DNF
Cars are given a grace of 3g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales. TE rule in effect.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for tournament prizes. Offending cars will still race. Prize will go to the runner-up in the case of penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will be fixed by the host if possible...if the damage is beyond repair, the contestant will be notified
Discussion
I've been working on a bunch of Pontiac lately, so let's start here :) I've always like 'the Judge' body...and, it just happens to sit quit nicely on a Chrysler 300 chassis.
Let's keep the colors listed here. Call out your team colors here...first come, first served...
Chevy_C10...Orange/black
Red for League of Speed
Going to go with the colors that served me best. Green and black
Also, if your 57g car is good...you could have one of your builds for American Muscle 2 already built...so, there's that to consider.

- Cool...glad to see cars being worked on already! — 72_Chevy_C10
- I like to build early that way I can always build more. Second guess everything and then end up sending the wrong car lol — NDeavers80
My cars will at least look good lol
Winner take all! Winner take all! Winner take all!
When I raced the first Bare Muscle, I just wanted to place on the trophy... winning it... my most prized victory...
- Looking forward to racing with you again Brother — LeagueofSpeed
- Nice little shrine you have there :) So many FTE wheels in one spot it's disgusting — redlinederby
- Ha ha, Brian...I used to be good at this... — Traction-Event

Okay...3 cars for me and I'll donate one to the winner...even though I plan on winning this RLD Classic :)
