We all have that cup, pail or bucket full of car parts that get discarded when we build our cars for racing...the Eternal...Quest for Speed...this race is about harvesting those parts...and building a car to live and race again!!! We will take separate wheels...back and fronts must be different and if you're axel tube inclined...why not make it four different wheels!!! the Body and Chassis must be from different castings/cars as well...use your imagination and skill and make'em fit....and your car(s) must be given names. However...NO NICKEL PLATTED AXELS ALLOWED...time to use those Mainline axels for some builds. So, build 1 or 2 cars and let's kick off October with a fun and challenging race!!!!

Rules & restrictions

  • Modified entries only
  • 57g maximum weight
  • 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
  • Limit 2 max entries per household
  • Mainline...Non Nickel Platted Axels and front and back wheels must be different wheel patterns.
  • Dry lube only
  • The Body and Chassis must be different castings as well...make it fit.
  • Car(s) must be given names...be creative and have fun with it

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host on or before Friday 10/5/2018. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 10/6/2018. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address.

Include $3.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Please print and include a Race ID slip with your entry

Prizes

Some cars and a small trophy

Track

Races will be run on the Quest Speedway track.

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random but will try to avoid having an entrant race themselves, especially in the first round.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 2g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for tournament prizes. Offending cars will still race. Prize will go to the runner-up in the case of penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.

This looks like a challenge. Different and interesting. I'm going to start digging.

Racing overload!!!! Every day when I either test some stocks for fastness or start messing with a build, I liked the idea of polished up stock axles only. I only have about 6 fte cars so it’s a benefit for me. I don’t have much scrap cars anymore that aren’t older JL’s but I can create parts. Lol. I’m in!

  • Good to Hear...this brings the Chop Shops alive!!! — LeagueofSpeed
  • I almost exclusively used Mainline axles. As long as you take the time to polish your axles properly then you will not have a problem outrunning ftes all day. — Red_Pill-Racing

I love it. Going to go big...

You can get as creative as you like...or just follow the rules, here's C10's GTO Judge body on a Chrysler 300 Chassis...now with different wheels front and back and it's ready to race the Boneyard Classic.

Working on mocking up a nomad onto a way to fast base. Also trying to come up with a name.

That's to wild...one of my builds is a Trim Trk body on a Way 2 Fast chassis!!!

I have something going on with a 71 Charger but I started building this a few years ago as a shelf piece. I would obviously change the axles but I think the body is a maisto. Would it still pass?

  • If it meets the rules...yes, different body...different chassis and different wheels front and back...as simple or as creative as you'd like to be — LeagueofSpeed
  • Nice — Mopar_Mafia

Meet THUMPER !!!
The Junkyard Dog !!!
