I WANT TO ELIMINATE THE REACTION TIMES FROM MY EXPERT RACERS TRACK,
I BOUGHT SOME LIGHT ACTIVATED SWITCHES AT RADIO SHACK... WILL THE GREEN LIGHT ACTIVATE THIS SWITCH AND RELEASE THE CARS ?
I WANT TO TIME ALL RACERS IN " HEET # 5- H.D.S. 2",
THOUGHT THAT ALL RACERS WOULD GET A KICK OUT OF KNOWING ....."BY HOW MUCH"..........
I KNOW THAT THE THEME HERE IS SIMPLICITY, NOT SUGGESTING ANY CHANGES IN ANY WAY....
JUST THAT I ALLREADY HAVE THE TIMERS, AND MIGHT AS WELL JOT DOWN THE TIMES WHILE HOSTING...BUT ONLY IF I CAN REMOVE THE REACTION TIME .... HELP...

light activated switches ; the wire size is very close to that of the starter switch wires, i am going to splice the light switch into the starter's wires, slide it into a tube, and line it up with the green light... it may be what you just said....

In theory, yes. In practice, it will depend on how the circuits are wired. I kinda remember how those circuits are laid out but it's been a couple of years since I have seen the boards. I do remember that almost everything is contained on one board and this can make things difficult. I think your best bet would just be to run a jumper from the green light and use it to trigger the start gate. This would eliminate the pedals entirely and run solely on the starting lights. That should remove the reaction time. I don't know how this would affect the reset function, but it's worth a try.
Although, if you're just determining the win margin, the reaction time isn't really going to matter since they will start at the same time.
If you have an extra start gate, I'd definitely take a look st it for you.
