Redline Derby Racing turns 8, happy birthday!

Happy birthday to us!

August 16th, 2009 is the "official" birthday of Redline Derby Racing as it was the day I bought the redlinederby.com web address and put up a site. Historically, Redline Derby started as a section of a previous site I ran so I'm not exactly sure what the first true date was using the name (somewhere in 2007, I think) but 2009 is close enough.

Eight years might not sound that old, we'd only be in 3rd grade, but in internet years, 8 is quite a life and probably puts us more in the grad school category. It's been a long, fun road to drive down since things started. I've seen a tiny hobby site I started grow into something great and that's because of everyone that has passed through these virtual gates.

Many have come, many have gone and a few have been here the whole time...but to everyone past and present, I say THANK YOU with all of my heart. I've been creating and managing web sites since I was 17, and while some others were successful, only Redline Derby has had longevity.

We've managed to create something that strikes a chord with people and that's not easy...and especially for this long. We bond through forum threads, screen names and well-loved shipping boxes...it's really amazing when I stop to think about it. I'm truly thankful.

So here's to another year of sharing and racing these little toy cars.
