That's a good question.

The answer is...we can or we don't have to...

I think we'll all talk after this Blind Trial Season is over and see what the general consensus is over a number of optional elements in how the game is played...the "keep teams/redraft teams" question is one of those.

On a personal level, I'm currently quite fond of being a Javelin...but I wouldn't expect to make league policy based on that.

In other words, plan on talking about this when the season is over.

There's only a week off between the end of this season and the next season (last of the year), so we should discuss sooner than later.

My two cents would be that the winning team gets to keep their members all intact while the other 7 teams are randomly picked like they were for this season, so based on end-of-season points total and going round robin until every team is filled.

I think this puts value in winning while keeping things somewhat auto-pilot. Since next season will be the last under this format, we don't want to get too crazy with managing teams. I'm building a lot of team tools into the game for next year so we'll have a lot of time to reflect on two seasons worth of team play to nail down the rules and workflow.

I think if we keep one team intact then they should all have that opportunity. Keeping just the top team while forcing the others to restructure would cause dominance issues.

This entire season was used to sort out teams. Out of pure dumb luck, I was pretty much solo for the season. This has nothing to do with my game play and It'd suck to be penalized for that.

Going into tourney thirteen is the first time I am confident that all four players will show.

My vote is the teams all stay.

I see your concern, but then my concern would be having to keep my team when I want new members. So then maybe it's a choice for the next trial season...? If you want your team, keep it; if you don't, then you'll get new players based on season-end standings.

However, since Peter is the teams commissioner, I'll let him decide since he's the one that has to deal with all the paperwork. Whatever he thinks is best to keep things fun is what we'll go with.

My initial feeling is to keep the teams together but give full team management options to the Team Captains. No more waiting for three weeks, if you want to make moves...make moves.

That's the expectation that I had when designing the game, at least.

That sounds fair. Kinda like an off season trade.

This was one hell of a year...and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

I've posted a new page for the Active Trial Season to come.

I will also post a new page with all of the "records" for the RTL.

But this page will remain as a testament to the excitement that was the first ever RTL season.
