Update: We did 8 driver sign ups last night ( 9 November) We will have more sign ups for international soon and we have begun a waiting list. So get over to WeRaceDiecast Facebook Group if you are interested and want to put your name down. Remember the sign ups are for international only who are unable to send in a car do to high costs of shipping.!

  • Clutch Mountain (A custom track in development).

Race format and scoring

UPDATE:
racing format will be as follows:

round 1: all cars will be divided into groups of 6 and raced on the 621 track. Top 3 of each group will advance on to next round. All other cars will be eliminated!

round 2: remaining cars will be raced either 6 or 4 at a time on an Outdoor version of a 621. Again either 2 or 3 will advance on. All others will be eliminated.

round 3: similar process. Trucks will race in either groups of 4-6 and raced on a modified version of the 621 that is known as the "there and back. It combines the crash racers set to the track. A number of cars will be eliminated, leaving a total of 16 cars remaining.  These races will be 4 laps and not points based, but position based.

round 4 (final round): the final races will be held on Clutch Mountain. An Under construction custom fat track that uses the crash racers set. This round will be a 16 car points based bracket tournament. 4 car groups , 4 points based races, top 2 move on!

for the cars that get eliminated early on, I'm sorry. But I will be keeping all these cars and they will not be givin out as prizes. They will be used again with same drivers.

May the best truck win!

Penalties/DNF

If a car is modified in any way it will not participate in the event. Just make sure you read the rules.

Prizes

Prizes have been announced, updated and posted in our Facebook Group: WeRaceDiecast. Top 3 winners will receive a prize!

The winner of the tournament will get the top 8 cars from the tournament. There may be prizes for second or third place depending on the number of entries. Also, if one my own cars wins, I will not get the prize lol, the prize will go to the next place competitor.

RedlineDerby has been gracious enough to sponsor this event and will be donating some RLD swag for the winner of the tournament.

If you are international and you win the tournament, I should be able to ship prize to you as long as shipping costs are not too crazy.

Oooo...love me them small pickups! Gonna try to find some to ship in for this one. Great job posting the specific castings, shouldn't be any confusion.

So pretty much a rip-and-repaint race .............. I'll have to take a look, see what I have onhand.

  • Yes Sir! I want to keep the field competitive while giving non moder's a chance to race and show off their paint skills! — WeRaceDiecast
  • Was actually considering adding a tonneau cover to the back of the truck, but then it would fall under the modified category. — SpyDude
  • Ya its tempting to make modifications. lol don't do it though haha :) — WeRaceDiecast
  • Is straightening an axle considered "modding"? Not changing wheels or polishing axxles, just one wheel seems to be slightly off-kilter and makes the truck head for the side of the track. — SpyDude

  • You have SIX HUNDRED AND TWENTY-ONE entries for a single race???? Dude going to be in second, third, seventh through forty-fifth .... :P. — SpyDude
  • Oh, wait .... 621 is the NAME of the race .... my bad. — SpyDude

Question:
Is straightening axles considered 'modding'? The truck I pulled out of the package earlier has a bent axle, just enough to nose it into the wall instead of rolling straight.  I have no intention of modding anything other than the paint, but I would like the truck to at least roll straight before i sent it in.

  • If you can straighten the axle without cutting it out, then ya that is okay. But no glueing the axle in place. Hope that helps. — WeRaceDiecast
  • That's all I needed to know. And yes, I can do that. — SpyDude

Fresh coat of paint for my Datsun!  It will be in the mail tomorrow.  Looking forward to this small truck race!

  • I see a Party Wagon in the background! — SpyDude
  • Yes! It will be in the Party Wagon race! — G4DiecastRacing
  • Nice catch on the Party Wagon in the back. I need to get on mine! — WeRaceDiecast

All ready to be shipped!  This was fun because the first vehicle I owned in high school was a Datsun. Except my was brown.  Lol!

  • Looks good. I like the lights details as well. This would be a nice working truck for sure. My first vehicle was an 88 Ford Ranger. Needed the small truck to back up under garage doors with a rack on the truck. Love the purple paint and can't wait to get it in! Will show it off in our Facebook group when it shows up! — WeRaceDiecast
  • Great paint job! — SpyDude
  • Wow, love the details! — IndianaDiecastRacing
  • Thanks! I'm having so much fun with this new hobby! — G4DiecastRacing
  • Beautiful — redlinederby
  • Got yours today! Posted it up in the album on Facebook. — WeRaceDiecast
  • Looks Killer! — GoldenOwl

Sadly, the only small trucks that I have on hand are Matchbox castings: 1982 Nissan Junior and 1961 Ford Falcon Ranchero.  I love the idea of the event, but will be sitting this one out.

  • No Worries Kit! We will see you on the next one, or the 621! :) — WeRaceDiecast

Hitting the post office Saturday

  • Great work! I like the Playboy pinup truck (mostly because I collect pinup art). — SpyDude
  • Nice! Looking good and looking forward to getting those in! The Playboy one is definitely a stand out haha. — WeRaceDiecast
  • Cool stuff! — G4DiecastRacing
  • Thanks everyone. Usually my paint jobs are trash. Was actually proud of these — Uncle_Elvis
  • Hey, really like the style on that orange and blue truck. What technique did you use to achieve that look? I'm completely ignorant of painting, and as much as I like the way a lot of my "base color, then dust with another color" results, I could really use some other abilities in the old toolbox. — Sam_Haul
  • I am super, dooper bad at it but I think it is called hydro-dip? Small bucket of water, spray paint into the water-a couple of colors, then submerge the item into the water. When you pull it out, the spray paint will cling to the item — Uncle_Elvis

Mine will be shipping out soon as well. Finished up their sad paint and decals today. Been a long time since I painted...lots of rust.

  • Look good from here, and they will look good on film, so get them on over and lets get it going! I got 29 trucks right now (mostly mine I gave out to international folks for driver signups), but got a lot coming, this is going to be a large tourney! Trying to decide how I"m going to run them, a lot of content will come out with these trucks for sure! — WeRaceDiecast
