The Ultra/Hot Ones - Plus One

This will be a tournament racing Hot Wheels "Ultra Hots" casting versus Hot Wheels "The Hot Ones" castings. This will be an all stock race, however, in order to help find the overall fastest entry, you will be allowed to open your entry up to work the wheels to the best of your ability and you can also paint the car if you choose. No weight is to be added or taken away from the entry. When put back together, it should look like its fresh out of the package, unless you painted it. (duh)
Now... the Plus One...
Alongside this tournament, there will be a 16 car modified race occurring throughout the rounds of the stock racing. The rules for that are as follows: 1 entry, modified however the heck you want, windshield - no windshield, cut, hogged, shaved, weights, roof cut off, roof added... whatever you want, just one catch to keep it interesting: Maximum weight for your entry can not exceed 35 grams!!! This a lightweight, modified race to see who can build the fastest track car. Must be modified within reason and in the spirit of the race. ( dont take a fast 37 gram car, pull out interior and call it modified) But if you want to take a 37 gram car, chop off the roof and add weight to it, thats cool.
Modified race will be open to the first 16 people who enter the stock race and comment: "In plus one". You must enter stock race to take part in the Plus One race.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock entries only
• 65g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 2 entries per household for stock race, 1 for modified
• Retail axles and wheels only.
• Any lube
• Entry must be from the Ultra Hots and The Hot Ones models only
• Any casting with the "Ulta Hot" wheel design will be considered an Ultra Hot for this race
• Each racer must enter one of each category, so that means 2 cars should be in the box you send
• Just because a car has gold rims, does not mean its a "Hot One", so double check yourself. Hot Ones can have a few different colored rims besides gold
• 32 entry limit for this tournament, 16 spots for the modified race
• Please comment "In, plus one" if you want to enter modified race

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 11/9/2024. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 11/16/2024. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. Cars will alternate lanes between each race. After 2 laps, the times will be added together. Top 16 fastest times move on, then top 8 times move on.. so on and so forth

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
