There was also talk around here a while back, that the early FTE cars ('05,'06) were faster than the FTE cars that came later.

My 09 FTE Nova might be my ony older style FTE I have. I'm not sure If I was buying cars around that time frame or not. When I started to log the recent buys they were 2010-12. Then I added the ones I had on a shelf and they were mostly around 2003. The other lose cars on the shelf dont seem to have FTE's.
I doubt my storage tubs would have them. I think they would be 2000 and older.

That sounds about like my timeline. After buying l;ots of Hot Wheels for years, I managed to stop buying them just before the FTE's came out. I didn't even know what they were till some kid at Target explained to me around last Christmas.

I need help deciding on what to mod! I have 2 unopened final runs that i've been sitting on for years and this would be a perfect time to open them. A Mercedes-Benz Unimog and a Gulch Stepper. However, I also have a beat-up 1983 OshKosh Snow Plow which is dying for a clean-up, coat of paint and a new set of wheels. It's an all-metal behemoth! Lost the plow part years ago though... didn't even know it was supposed to have one until I checked the wiki! haha

Those are three good ones to choose from. I think I would go with the Unimog.
I think you have pointed this out before. What makes 05 Slider FTE set so special ?
