My first post for a while, hope everyone is well and keeping safe.

Can anyone help me identify the model of the silver Johnny Lightning car (7 tampo) and also the Richard Petty "STP" stocker?

Im always wary of NASCAR castings as so many have real riders - but this one looks awesome.

Stay safe guys, look forward to hearing from you.

I posted this yesterday without realising it was the first part of an 11 video series - 160 of "the fastest stock cars from multiple brands" - massively long track - first 2 parts are out, I really enjoyed them.

Personal mission for me is to collect each of the competitors ????

Thanks for posting the race!  I enjoyed watching it. Quite the setup with the super long track. I was surprised to see how much speed many of the cars still had in them by the end.  I was also surprised how fast the JL Mustang was, finishing 2nd, as I have one and it is definitely not a racer. What shocked me was the Tomica. Man, that thing looks super quick, even at the end of the track!  Is that one of the new releases that have been in WalMart?

The JL Mustang came in  the "Exclusive 5 Car Value Pack", in 2000.  A number of different cars came in chrome. I also have the #12 Dodge Coronet in chrome and green. Many of the cars were nothing to write home about. You could get a good deal on them when KB Toys was around. I think some may also have been released on the small red cards. I would buy them for the "Spoiler" type cars, no hoods, chrome motors, and the number on the doors.

The Petty car is part of the "Pro Circuit" series. Don't know what year but there are a few supposedly fast castings in that series, Petty being one of them.

  • Thanks, I can only wish they were my cars and my track - it’s a channel I follow closely and will be watching the series with great interest. The Tomica surprised me massively - I steer clear of them personally as they aren’t “true” 1:64 castings (feels like putting a middleweight boxer in with a heavyweight) - but that one runs great. I love the green track and the curves, but have no idea what sets they’re from? — RobertBcfc
  • The Petty is 1992 - I’ve always given the Pro Circuit cars a wide berth as I thought (maybe wrongly?) they were real riders — RobertBcfc

I was amazed how much speed they all carried from a relatively small drop to a very long run off and 2 corners.

  • I know - the drop’s pretty steep but not long. I would’ve thought a lot of the cars would’ve slowed to the point of almost not finishing or crawling over the line — RobertBcfc
