How to edit your own postings

Click the pencil icon below your post, right side of the screen at the same level as the thumbs up.

I'm sorry but I don't see a pencil icon.... is it the square box above the hand?

It should be to the far right of the thumbs up. There are three icons. A triangle with an exclamation in it, a garbage can and the icon above (piece of paper with a pencil).

Hmmm...it could be. If you don't see the icon in that image then there's something else wrong. Possibly your browser not showing the icon properly.

If you could take a screen shot and send it to me (or post it) that would be very helpful...and would probably lead to a quick fix.

There are many variations of browsers and I'm not able to test them all on my own. There's a good chance yours might be outside of that range, in which case I just need to know what browser you're using and then I can find a fix.

Sorry for the inconvenience and trouble. I know this is the type of stuff that is upsetting people but I can't fix things unless I know about them - so thank you for reporting it.

Editing a thumbs up comment is different.  At first you could not.  Then there was an undo tag next to your name for an hour.  After that it went away.  As of Monday the undo tag wasnt working for me anymore either.  In the case of your screen capture above the only way to "edit" your post now is for the poster to delete that particular post.  Or I guess you could ask a mod or the site manager.

Okay...I see...Milton is correct.

You can't edit a Thumbs Up comment and the "undo" got busted in the last update, and I will be fixing that very soon (hopefully tonight).

I don't have any plans on allowing editing of the Thumbs Up comment simply because they are so short in the first place and there is an undo (when working). I don't want to gunk up the screen with a ton of icons and stuff...that's no to say editing the quick comments isn't do-able, just gotta find the right solution.

If you need a Thumbs Up comment deleted, you can PM me or just make another comment saying so. I monitor all content going up (thumbs up, posts, pictures, etc) so if I see something that looks wrong or says "hey, delete that last one for me" - I'll probably catch it.

As for regular posts, only the author of the post can make edits, as you would expect.

Sorry for the confusion and broken buttons. You guys are moving faster than I am :) but it will all get fixed sooner than later. You can follow the site updates thread and see when I make updates and what's included in each.
