In-person Raffle Race

Here's something a little different. During the upcoming CS Customs Convention (June 9-11 Cincinnati OH) we'll be holding a Friday Night Raffle race that features up to 100 custom Hotwheel Camaros. For $20 attendees of the convention can buy a race entry that includes the custom painted Camaro, complete with race graphics. The cars are all metal chassis but otherwise completely stock. So other than colors it's pretty much a spec car drag race. The cars will be run three at a time on a 38ft Derby Magic track with the fastest car of each race moving to the next round. (single elimination) Once we get to the final 3 the system will be switched to a drag race mode that requires each "driver" to start their own car using a real drag race tree. Each finalist will get one timed run in each lane and the times will be averaged to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. The raffle pot will be split 40/30/20/10 with 40% going to a local charity, 30% to 1st, 20% to 2nd and 10% to 3rd place. All entrants get to keep their custom entry car when the racing is over. 

Not sure if a 100 car drag race using custom spec cars has ever been done but it should be fun. If you're in the area and/or attending the convention and want more info post a message here.
