If you experience any problems or think you've found a bug, please report it to us. You can contact us by email, Facebook, Twitter, private message or post a reply to this topic.

To help us best troubleshoot your problem, please be as detailed as you can about what you were doing when you experience the problem, and more so, what you expected to happen but didn't. It also helps to include what browser or device you were using.

I will be reviewing all reported bugs and feedback so if the issue you find isn't fixed right away, please trust that it will get fixed eventually.

I thank you for your patience and understanding as we move Redline Derby Racing into the future once again.

After the initial migration of content from one database to another, it seems many external links are now broken. I'll do my best to repair them but if you see a link in one of your posts that is now broken, please see if you can correct them and re-save your post.

It also looks like there are [color] tags from the old forum that were not removed, so you'll see those things hanging around. I should be able to remove them automatically but if you care to remove them yourself, feel free.

I can't figure out how to reply in the "Gassers,Gassers and More Gassers" thread. There is no "Share your thoughts" box at the bottom of the thread. I also don't see a "Replay to topic" box anywhere.

Thanks

Thanks for the reports. I'll work at fixing them as soon as possible.

The posts that don't have a reply box at the bottom are locked because they're crazy long and can't really support any more posts. Mostly these are the on-going posts like Recent Finds, etc. The new design doesn't paginate topics so if there are 1000 replies it will try to load them all and will cause bigger problems. I'm trying to figure out how to resolve that - might end up splitting those into several posts.

The immediate solution is to start a new topic.

The bug that I need to fix is to clearly show that a topic is locked rather than just not showing the reply form.

I also caught a bug that is in the topic update email alert, the link that is included is incomplete and won't work.

So if you follow a topic you'll still get the email but the link inside won't work.

splitting up long topics is confusing....especially when race results are posted in the same thread. we may need a discussion thread and a results thread...with no chit chat depending on what size thread is allowable.

also if there was a forums button on the main page, might clear up some confusion in finding topics.

my mobile device is not having any issues, but my laptop launches 14 failure messages for every page i open, or return to a page

I'm trying to embrace the change...but i need more time to find all the items that are stickied or new mail in racers need.

@Traction - What type of errors do you see on your laptop? What browser are you using? 14 errors is a lot and very unexpected...unless you're on a very old browser, there might be issues there.

Splitting up topics is not a solution, I agree, and keep in mind this is only for topics that were started on the old forum and brought over. As new topics get started on the new site that won't be an issue. There is no limit or max number of posts for a topic, this is something I did one-off for the site swap.

I think I might need some more insight on what the confusion feeling is in finding topics and categories. I know stuff has moved (and that's a shock in itself) but the categories and topics are all available on the home (and through the main menu). The idea of "the forum is over here" is gone. The site as a whole is the forum.

Maybe if I put a "Start topic" button on the home page that then asks you what category you want?

Thanks for the feedback and for y'alls patience. I know change is tough.

I have been on my school computer all morning and not run into any errors. Have not tried it on my mobile yet.

I am guessing that the "quote" post button is no longer available to keep things less cluttered...or am I overlooking it?

To follow up on TEs comments.  I am noticing that you can only see all the threads in a catagory if you are in the latest post sort mode.  And at the bottom of the list you can see the other thread titles.  To me it does look different, but seems the same.  The trending sort is neat, because it shows who is looking at threads - not just posting in them.

I also just noticed the "quote" button in this "share your thoughts" section.  When I click it it "quotes" my message though...changing the format and appearance and adds a red bar to the left.

Brian,

Can you also explain to us the benefit (thought process) of going back to the top of thread after you "post (a) reply"?  I would rather it redirect to that new post automatically - which is what the new option (green button/bar) that now shows there does.

And you already have the "total replies" and "jump to last post" buttons that does the same thing.

I also just updated the above post and it goes to a new page, which gives me the option to return to the update post.  That seems to me should be automatic as well.

@Milton - The jump to a page after editing is something I need to change. That is an action left over from earlier in the new site design that I forgot to redo.

I think the primary thought process behind not going down to a person's last post after update is that jumping to places on the page without the user making that decision is somewhat bad practice. Things shouldn't just "happen" without the user deciding that they wanted to do it...hence the blue/green links to make that jump.

And, in theory, there's no need to see your post after you submit because you've already seen it...now that what you type is what you get, there's no real need to check your work after the fact. Again, that's the theory...but I know that's not how people think or act...so really it's a matter of finding a good solution that does't confuse the user while still saving them the extra step. Maybe I can make it a non-refreshing post...I dunno, I'll see what can be done to smooth out that process.

And BTW, the blue "Jump to end" button only appears after the post has 10 or more replies, so it's not there all the time.
