Airbrushing

Over Christmas someone asked if I use an airbrush to paint my custom cars. I don't but got me thinking if an airbrush is worth it...?

Right now I just use spray paint with some model paint for details but I always figured the overhead of a airbrush wasn't worth the trouble. I know they're not cheap (around $100 it seems) and then you need special paint(?)...not real sure and all the stuff online talks about painting "real" models, not metal like we would do.

Just wondering if anyone currently uses an airbrush for customizing and if so, what kind and how do you like it....worth it...all that type of stuff?

I know airbrushing would open up a whole new world of colors, which is appealing but not sure if its worth it all.
