Charger Summer 2020

Mopars Iconic Masterpiece takes center stage at Redline Derby Racing for our annual Summer Series...Gen2 - 1968 to 1970 and Gen3 - 1971 to 1974 Chargers will comprise the field for this Series Event...Summer 2020 belongs to the Dodge Charger...Good Luck and see everyone in June.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 70g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Retail axles and wheels only...Mainline, FTE etc., builders choice
• Dry lube only
• Chargers must be Gen2-1968 to 70 or Gen3-1971 to 74
• Team must be 2 cars....36Teams/72 cars cut-off

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host on or before Wednesday, 6/3/2020. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 6/6/2020. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Track

Charger Summer will start on Quest Speedway NC in June and will end on Tobacco Road NC in September...we need 6 more host Tracks to complete the rotation for the Summer Series...respond in the Thread if you'd like to Host.

Race 1- Tobacco Road, NC

Race 2- D64 Shelf Track, UT

Race 3- Goodnight Trail, TX

Race 4- HTOWN Hustle, TX 

Race 5- Red Pill Hill, GA

Race 6- Tecumseh Proving Grounds,MI

Race 7- Quest Speedway, NC

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random but will try to avoid having an entrant race themselves, especially in the first round. If the two cars are tied 4 to 4 after 8 races...there will be a coin flip to determine the lanes and the winner of the 9th race will be the winner.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 2g(TE Rule) over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for tournament prizes. Offending cars will still race. Prize will go to the runner-up in the case of penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.
