PSA: Dealing with The Chaos

So there's some chaos happening out there and whether you're personally worried or not, this virus stuff is impacting everything around us and that will trickle down.

For me, my employer is sending people home to work for a month, and my kid's school is doing the same. So my home, and probably your home, is getting its routine turned upside down. We're all going to have to adjust some things and time will be shifted to far more important things than racing.

We all know racing isn't that important compared to everything else going on. I know that, you know that. But RLD is a community and it's my responsibility to let members know what's happening and how that impacts things.

And right now...kinda dunno. Some dates and deadlines will get pushed back, and some races might get canceled. Hard to say at this point. We crowdsource our races so it's up to each individual host how and what happens with races, dates, etc.

I'll do my best to keep up with updates. If you have posted dates/events, I ask that you do the same. It's not important whether races happen or not...it's important that you communicate. Don't leave people wondering one way or the other.

If you're not yet, please follow our Facebook page. Updates may get posted on FB first and then trickle down here to the site.

Stay safe, stay friendly, and stay sane.

And for the love of Pete, wash your hands!

Discussion

Absolutely...I was thinking about an RLD Public Service Announcement...so...this is it.

Our oldest...Speedzilla is coming home from college this weekend and will be taking classes online...Speed Force is already at home due to home schooling...so...Crazytown around here in NC as well.

Be Safe everyone and use Common Sense moving forward...as of now we don't anticipate any race cancellations at the LoS Racing Grounds but could be some schedule changes.

And please share your thoughts and feelings on your situations. My (our) decisions will be made based on what we're hearing from community members.

If people can't make it out (or just don't want to) to ship out cars and things, just say so, and everyone will adjust accoridingly. We'll push back dates, we'll cancel races, it doesn't really matter but it'll be business as usual unless we know otherwise.

It might be obvious but RLD isn't going anywhere. The lights will always be on so even if mail-in racing gets paused, we can still share our builds, talk about toys, and just hang out.

Playtime might get cut back for a lot of us during all this chaos and fear, which makes it even more important to share the fun that is being had. Whether that's painting a car, or a small track build, or just your family having fun together. Share the good stuff. Because it's not all bad news out there.

Yeah, my schedule is all messed up right now too. Between the COVID stuff, work being insane and the needing to get the house done in two weeks I haven't had much time to work on the video for the Philly Finale. I might have to start sending back the entries before the video even gets posted, although then participants would know the results. I dunno. I might have time to finish it sun or monday.

The fact we've even got this thread up shows that the trickle down effect has arrived at RLD as well...hope we use it as a positive outlet for escape until life as we know it finds some normalcy.

Now it sounds like Speedzilla will be home for the remainder of the spring semester...ahhhhhh, just like old times.

...me and 3 women in the house.
