El Camino Beano!!

Number of Entries: approx 40

Castings: Limited to the Hotwheels El Camino (any year) with the engine exposed.  The Aussie version of the El Camino (aka Holden Ute) with the engine exposed is allowed.  If the car comes with a rear spoiler, please keep it on.  It's cool.

Weight Limit: 60 grams (1g allowance over for scale variability)

Weight Distribution: Aim for a 50/50 weight distribution for optimize the cars drift-ability. Added weight is allowed under the chassis but must be painted flat black or the same color as the bottom of the vehicle.

Tires: Only black tires allowed. Wheel swaps are allowed, but wheel well hogging is not allowed. Light sanding to smooth out wheel imperfections is welcome. Wheel coning is not allowed... and it won't help on Shavano Mountain Raceway.

Painting: There is a Best In Show award, so take your time and make your entry look stunning! Entries with the stock color are allowed, but you won't be part of the Best In Show contest. Painting your car with a paint brush is not allowed.  Hand painting your race number is not allowed.  Drawing your race number with a marker is not allowed.  Please use decals or a stamp.  Hand painting details (lights, handles, trim) is acceptable.

Graphics: Please no offensive graphics or images (ex. bikini girls).  Sponsors are okay.  Travis Pastrana has a coffee sponsor called Black Rifle.  That is okay.  When in doubt, message me and ask.  I'm open to any questions.

Racing Number: Must be between 0 and 999. Please state which number when you sign up. First come, first serve.

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries only
• 60g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entries per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Dry lube only.  Silicone spray that dries is acceptable.  Very small portions of oil are acceptable, but cannot be dripping off the axles.
• The car out of the box must have an expose engine (i.e. 4-stroke with blower or pipes, jet engines).  Gluing an engine on is not allowed.
• Rear spoiler is allowed if it comes with the car.  Gluing a rear spoiler on is not allowed.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Tuesday, 3/31/2025. Racing is scheduled for Tuesday, 4/1/2025. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Race format and scoring

Time Trials determine who races in the top 32
8 Groups: top 2 move on
Sweet 16: top 2 move on
Elite 8: top 2 move on
Final 4

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not be allowed to race in the tournament.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
