El Segundo Special

Welcome to the El Segundo Special on Pine Hill Rally Course! Building the El Segundo Coupe, and El Segundo Rally castings will probably be a challenge. Building a Coupe Clip will be even more of a challenge! We have always liked the El Segundo Coupe, and when they came out with the El Segundo Rally it was even better. I look forward to racing all of the entries, even if it means filming in the garage in the middle of winter!

-No limit on entries. I'll race however many show up, but we'll probably have to eliminate some in the qualifiers. 

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries only
• 65g maximum weight. Don't feel like you have to get it to the max; these cars are pretty small
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entries per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Any lube, no dripping please
• No stock cars please. They don't handle the track very well compared to modified!
• Fender hogging and base sanding allowed. Car must be recognizable
• Any color/type of wheels are allowed
• El Segundo Coupe, El Segundo Rally, and Coupe Clip castings only!
• Family friendly graphics and drivers only 
• I will accept as many as who want to sign up. We will probably have to eliminate some in the qualifiers though.
• You have to have fun. I will not race your car if you don't have fun building it.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 11/14/2026. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 11/14/2026. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry.

Include at least $10 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize unless otherwise specified.

Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry

Track

Pine Hill Rally Course. 45 feet of homemade track with plenty of crashing, passing, and generally entertaining racing to go around!

Race format and scoring

This will be a double-elimination tournament. The top 2 racers from each group will advance until we crown a champion.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Qualifiers will be run to seed the bracket.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken or break during racing will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins (probably with a hot glue gun).
