Factory Wars {A NEW MAIL-IN}
"The AC Cobra, sold as the Ford/Shelby AC Cobra in the USA and often known colloquially as the Shelby Cobra in that country, is an American-engined British sports car produced intermittently since 1962."
Well Jim, I think as long as the Cobra you plan on running has a 427 in it, it's a Ford.
As this event creeps closer and closer, I'm becoming more and more excited!
I was thinking about some of the logistics that I want to share with everyone, and also open it up to any suggestions you guys have.
The original plan was to race by category, and then a huge race with all the cars. I want to stick to that plan so this is how it will go down.
This event should take a week, one video each night. April 20th was the date I believe to have all the cars here. So, if everyone makes it in time. I'll make an intro video that will show picks of all the teams, the track, and the racing schedule. The next night the racing will begin. 1 manufacture category will race for 5 nights in a row! Buckle up!
Cars will race for TEAM points here. They will be added up until the 5th day of racing comes to a close. The top 3, or 5 teams will receive prizes (depending on the total count of prizes we come up with).
Then on day 7 we'll host the biggest clash of racing I think I've ever seen. We should have over 100 cars!
Since they may be a bit taxing on the video editing perspective, I may skip the potential blow-out races in the early rounds. However, I'll DEFINITELY have every race when it comes down to the top 32 or so. We'll see though, maybe I'll fit every race in there....
LASTLY, this event gives us the opportunity to make some interesting inferences about whether car manufacturer has any effect on a 1:64th scale. My original thoughts tell me it shoudn't, but it will cool to see.
With such a large sample size, the stats that come out of this may be a bit more accurate than we've seen in smaller events.
If anyone has and ideas about which stats I should keep track of let me know. I already have Manufacturer record and wheel type records.
Thanks guys. Cant wait!
Maybe you should se what color is the fastest.
I'm very interested in the wheel data.
i change bases so you would be judging the "car" by it's base...

This brings up an interesting question: "so if the body of Smitty's car is a Ford, and the base is from a Lakester, would the car be considered a Ford or an "Other"?
i change bases so you would be judging the "car" by it's base...
I assumed you would be using the body to determine the Make. I mean if there is a Ford Mustang body with any other base. It's still a Mustang isn't it?
I started a couple cars and had different bases...I gave up on that so there's no disputing what type of car it is. It is the Factory Wars after all.

True words!
oh boy, i got a ford on a ford, a gm on a gm... and 3 mongrels....
Let me see...I'm betting on--for the big race--either a BWF Camaro, one of Carl's Chryslers, or a Ferrari of some sort. There was another one, but now I can't think of it.
And by the way...Sinisterdog and I once had a 1206 car double-elimination tournament, which lasted weeks if I remember correctly. No, that wasn't a typo. However, we made no videos of the event, and probably didn't have nearly as fast of cars as this event will.
Ok,I still do not know what a BWF camaro is....
I am also looking forward to this event, tons of cars...Can't wait to see team photos so we can view the race entrys

Nice looking line up Keith. Looks like you have a color theme going -lots of white with some red and blue.
Question for all...The Shelby Cobra would be considered a Ford right?
