Grampian Mountains Spring Rally Tournament
The tournament will start one week late (2nd May first video), I am waiting for a part to arrive for the track. I will try and kick things off with two groups per video to speed things up.
I am still not completely sure on numbers. A good few didn't show up and haven't said anything..
If anyone is on the way and hasn't told me yet please do so ASAP.
This absolute beast of a crossover from Spool Heads has just arrived. Russ custom designed it to suit this track with a longer ramp to avoid the faster modified cars taking off down the skii slope. Works beautifully and reduces the inside lane advantage on my track a little over 50%. It's about twice as long as the previous crossover I was trialling in some of my recent videos.
New jump also installed (slightly smaller to improve success rate).
Sculptamould also just arrived, so I'll be patching up the diorama and film the first race this weekend. Can't wait.
First group of 4 filmed and will be up on YouTube this Friday. Just about managed to finish the diorama around the new track in time. Some of it was still wet!
The first group ran really well with the new crossover which has significantly reduced the inside lane advantage.
I've put a much smaller jump in for this tournament, so we shouldn't end up with any DNFs there.

I received 24/32 entries in the end, one of which was a backup racer. So we are 8 short for this format to work.
Of the 24 cars that entered Round 1, 12 will proceed to Round 2 but we need 16.
To fill the gap, I plan to move forward the the four of the third place racers that had the most points from Round 1. In the event that two or more of the four top third place racers have the same amount of points, we will look at fastest lap times (which is only possible if they each had a first place lap as the timing system only records the first vehicle - otherwise I will do a single lap time trial to settle it).
I hope that makes sense, it feels the fairest way to me and gives another chance to teams that would otherwise be leaving the tournament without impacting anyone that made the top 2.

Group 1 and 2 of the Quarter Finals has been filmed and currently in editing ready for this Friday.
Those who haven't arrived yet and haven't messaged me to say they are on the way, please drop me a message by April 17th or I will have to assume you've dropped out. I can wait a few more weeks for them to arrive as I have plenty of cars for the next few weeks but I do need to know if you are in or out so I can finalise the tournament structure before I start filming this coming weekend.
