Lightweight Championships **FULL**
Friday, July 29th, 2022This race is geared to spotlight the lighter weight and often overlooked stock castings.
2 separate weight classes.
Featherweights: 30.99g and under
and
Welterweights: 31.0-40.99g
You can send in a maximum of 2 cars per weight class. Limited to 32 cars total in each class.
Please adhere to these weight restrictions for event fairness. Graphited axles and outer wheels are allowed, as a gentleman's rule, no wheel sanding.
Please be sure and fill out a Redline Derby entry form and one $7 fee with your cars. The fee will be used to return your cars back home. This fee covers up to 4 cars sent in. If you are sending from outside the US, please send whatever amount it cost you to ship if you want them returned. You can use PayPal to pay your entries as well, but please use the friends & family option, and BE SURE to include your race team name in the comment section. PP address: brandonngiles@hotmail.com
If I do not receive your entry fee, the winner of the weight class will receive your cars as the booty!

Race format and scoring
This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.
The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.
Bracket seeding will be random.
Penalties/DNF
Cars are given a grace of .5g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales. I highly advise purchasing an inexpensive digital scale that measures to 1/10 of a gram to ensure compliance. If your scale measures in just whole gram increments, I would not suggest sending in a 31g or 41g car and expect it to make weight.
Limited to stock castings only. No drilled rivets, no added weight. Dry lube is most definitely preferred. If a car is sent and has oil dripping off of the wheels, it will not be allowed to run to prevent fouling of the race surface.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
