That sounds good. Do the bye's cause a problem with that system? You get a "free" race, but one less opportunity for a point. I guess if you keep winning rounds it doesn't matter.

That bracket spreadsheet also makes me want to click and pick the winners like in the fantasy league.

We'll just assume that the byes are distributed randomly and equally across the entire series, and we'll have that be a "preliminary" knockout round. If you dont make it past you will fail to score any points. from then on, then next round is round 1 of the bracket and points start to be awarded based on victory?

Yes, or how about a half point for first round wins? Then cars that win at least get some credit. (Then at the end of the series you can cash in your credits...for a pat on the back) I think extra points for later rounds might start giving the faster cars run away points leads. I don't know.

Your right, about cars running away with points, however a 1/2 point just sounds confusing

How about...

1st = 10
2nd = 8
3rd,4th= 6
5th-8th= 4
9th=16th= 2
Then for those who did not place in top 16, but got a victory before top 16, were to get 1 point.

Maybe, Give the car that drew the bye, 2 points if it were to win in round 2. If Bye car loses 1 point for presumed 1st round win. Keeping the playing field even and fair. Maybe up the points for quarter & semi finals.

I like this except, why not just not give any points for round 1? Would solve all of our problems with byes. No half point confusion either.

IMO and judging from past races the closer the point spread the better.
I'm ok with whatever is come up with and if help is needed I'm here.
