Mustang Summer 2019 - Official Thread

The Ford Mustang...a true piece of Americana and a legendary part of American Muscle. Summer time in America...the open road abounds across the nation and the Mustang has dominated it's share through the years since 1964...this Summer we separate the Lil Ponies from the Thoroughbreds....so find or build some Stallions to set free...the countdown to Mustang Summer 2019 has begun.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 60g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 2 entries per entrant/person
• Retail axles and wheels only...FTE and all nickel platted axels are LEGAL
• Dry lube only
• 2 cars per entrant
• Any year Mustang...NO Funny Cars or Pro Stock...think Street legal
• Keep the 60g tight..NO TE Rule in effect...61g OK...61+g Not OK...Be Dilligent
• We will be capping the Field at 32 Teams/64 Cars

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host on or before Thursday, 5/30/2019. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 6/1/2019. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Track

Mustang Summer 2019 will start on the Tobacco Road track.

We will Open on Tobacco Road and Finish on Bootleg Run...we need some host tracks inbetween...I'm hoping for 12 total...so we need 10 more tracks!!!

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random but will try to avoid having an entrant race themselves, especially in the first round.

This will be a Summer long points race...where both cars score points for their team...the most cumulated points after the Final Race will be the Champion. 

Penalties/DNF

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be repaired before the tournament. Cars that break during the tournament will not be repaired or replaced.
