This picture makes it look like the finish line does connect to the orange track. That is where I am wondering still if you can just pop off the last section, take off the finish gate and put it on backwards so the cars are coming towards the tabs-just like the 4 lane HW raceway allows you to do. Now you can use the finish gate on a really long track with any track setup that you have. If you can do that, buy two of them and take the finishing gate off one, add orange track to extend it with the tabs already there, and then add the other finish section reversed at the end. No blocks, drilling etc...

Do the sounds get annoying from the gate and does a low battery have any impact in the results?

On the Super Six Lane, the finish gate attaches to the plastic track by snapping together in a slot. But on the side of the finish gate is a locking tab that sticks out about a inch or so for storing purposes. Its this tab that you insert into a 1/2 hole and presto...you have created your own support that will steady the gate on any track configuration. (I have two sets of holes drilled in my blocks of wood that allows me to use the gate when the track is flush on the ground, and when I'm using my board track that elevates the track about 1 inch off the ground.)

You could buy two Super Six lanes and join them together...but it would be like racing in a half pipe...down one side and up the other side.

The sound doesn't bother me, kinda makes it exciting and even with low batteries it still works just sounds like a person talking in "Slow Motion". But the batteries really hold up well...I just recharge my first set the other night, and I've been racing the track for 2 months. The results are the same with fully charged batteries...this thing rocks for the price. Hey less than $60 bucks and you can have you own "Judge" for alot less money. It doesn't tell the time of the cars but it is sure better than trying to eyeball the winning car.

One more thing the finish gate can stand on its own...I just use the wooden blocks to help steady it and keep it straight. Also the picture on the box really doesn't accurately portray the track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5HMzJ_9oi8

That video is pretty funny given half the cars don't even make it to the finish line.

Hey Preacher, you got any photos of your setup with the finish line? That might help us out with the custom part.

Check out PhotoBucket.com and you can upload some quick pics and then paste the web address of the photo they give you in your post, it should work. TwitPic is another option for quick hosted photos. Flickr is a full-featured photo management site that is probably overkill...a lot of the guys around here use PhotoBucket - http://photobucket.com

Photobucket is really easy to use, but if you don't want to deal with it you can email them to me at tastelikedirt@yahoo.com and I'll post them.

That video is hilarious. It's well done with the editing and camera angles ect...the lengthened track looks cool too. The one small problem is the racing. Don't need a electronic finish line to see who's winning those races.

This video is kinda funny too. Check out their stop box! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjMNrDRfTJ4

If I understand correctly the slightly darker orange finish line comes off from the base/track and you can use it by itself? It just needs to be secured somehow so it doesn't fall over?

No...its built into the track. But if you watched the video that I gave the link to, don't think that this is a slow track, those were just slow cars. I have never had a car that would not finish a race on this track stretched out to 17ft. Also if you get this track you need to be careful on how you unsnap the track pieces. I sprayed some pledge on the joints, and then dusted them with baby powder...just to help with taking it apart. Hey it sets up super fast...add your own track pieces and do two lane races, four lane or use all six to find your fastest cars. It sells in Canada for $119.99 at Zellers. I got mine off Fleabay for $39 plus shipping.
