Oasis Racing, New Track, hopefully soon
We survived and my prayers go out to all the fire victims. One fire was started in our neighborhood. Walking distance. I don't know what's wrong with the human race. I did see a video of the 4 kids (24 year olds who may have started the real big one. We finally unpacked our suitcases after 2 weeks. On with the show. I Did finish the Boxing building/dice tower. In the early days NASCAR had boxing matches in the parking lots to bring in the crowds, so I decided to paint up some boxers and wrestlers, tough truck drivers like Tank Murdoch, women mexican wrestlers, weight lifters anyone can step into the ring. I bought small dice, for charm bracelets.Different colors. The dice come out into the boxing ring. It's for half time. I have added palm trees and a side door. I'll post it soon.

Here's 2 more shots closer to finishing.

Tradgedy has struck. I have some good news and some F*** me running news. Bad news is a family emergency, and on the track building side I lost all my artwork Etc....for my track, 1 cup of dunkin donuts coffee on your keyboard laptop will do that shit. Just saw the latest MI movie. SPOILER ALERT Tom Cruise hanging from planes and jumping in arctic oceans to beat a computer. I did it in a kitchen. I'm the same age as him.
On to the good news. I am clearing out my spot in the garage and the track building begins. I will post photos. YAY!
Just came across this thread. I'm a fellow zipper club member, CABGx2 last July. Not retired yet but now living my "Some Day" phase. All the things I said I would get around to some day I'm now addressing, which includes my own track as I reclaim the space for it.
Your zest for life is showing in the details you have in the diorama pieces you've built thus far. Looking forward to your track's debut. Stay active, love life, keep working on the legacy you will leave.
- Thank you very much. Just jump in, I am going to post my latest development on the track build. — LordSyosset
- One more thing, start out small if you're not that confident. The track doesn't have to be 14 ft long. — LordSyosset
- Oh I'm going big, have to. My room is 720 square feet. I hope to get a 200'+ track in there, make it a monster. — BadWoolRacing
Construction has begun, I am reminded that on D-Day there was over 600 plans for the invasion and not 1 went right. The 2nd plan came from a Sgt. that said "GET OFF THE BEACH OR WE'RE ALL DEAD!" Well ladies and gents I am off the beach and I am on my 2nd turn in the Oasis. Or as I call it the Ghost Town. Next it might go faster now that I have gotten a hand on building the track and thanks to all the helpful hints from the board here.
- Man with a plan.... Is the base a wooden pallet? Suggestion: put it on wheels so you can move it around easily. You'll thank me later. — SpyDude
- like it, a good start — dr_dodge
- Actually it's on two dolleys. 7'L 6'H 4' W — LordSyosset

Here's two cheap dolleys.
The rocks are coming along, 2 years ago and here's were I'm at. 65-70%Track is done. The decor is coming along. The carving out of the grand canyon, the beach, the hotels, boardwalk, and city still need to be done.

- Looking good! — StrayDog
- That's beautiful! Glad to see you're attacking your 'some day' goal. Can't wait to see it in action. My someday goal just keeps getting postponed hahaha. Oh well...some day! — Skid_Marks_Diecast_Racing
- Love how you did the bridge — Kingjester
Abbsolutly amazing work!Pure artistry! Please keep joing, can't wait to see it finished! You sound like you have the sams sense of humor as me.Good luck,I'm in for any races when you,re ready,MikeyBoy
Thanks for the comments. I hope to have the track racing soon. The City and the Hotel resort where the drivers will be staying and a beach. The Rocks are just amazing and I don't do the beauty justice. The Grand Canyon is just that , GRAND. And a chance for racers to win a spot on the boardwalk for their business.

The Oasis finished another turn and I am feeling the jazz. I want to get it done but too much to finish. Here's the finished turn with an oasis.

Just finished the background under the first arch. Unfortunately had to scrap the beach after a few accidents. Now I have to figure out another way to do it. I'm close to finishing, getting to the smaller details. Here's the background under the arch. It came out larger than I wanted.

Thank yous all. We're supposed to have high winds Tuesday to Thursday, not good. We have generator power.
