Racing-March 11

March marked the 2nd month of racing in our competitive racing league. There were many more people and many more cars than usual, which had me worried just a little bit. But after all the races had been run, my sons and I ended up placing in the top 4 in all eight divisions.

Kids Class
My oldest son decided to take the 2010 Car of the Year for the rookie class (Power Piston) and enter the car here. Last month he entered it in a Super Stock class and it got 2nd in that division. He was hoping for a 1st place finish and entered the car here. It couldn't be touched until the final four race where it finally got beat. The car came home in 2nd place and he got 6 points and 6 "free" dollars. My youngest son ended up in 4th place with a 2010 Camero SS. That was for 1 point and 1 "free" dollar.

Rookies Class
I am considered a rookie and entered 6 cars in the class. A car that had good weight that I had won in February, was my top finishing car. It was a MX48 Turbo car. The car came home in 2nd place in the class and I got 6 points and 6 "free" dollars.

Late Model Class
Last month, my youngest son clearly had the fastest car and then one of our own cars upset it. It must have been just a bad start or bad lane or something as the car easily won the class this month. It was a Jet Threat and it gave him the monthly champion. That means his car is garaged by the racing league and then got 10 points and 10 "free" dollars. Because he got 2nd place last month in this class, he is the early points leader. My oldest son took up a Blastous car and also made it into the final four, placing in 4th place earning 1 point and 1 "free" dollar.

Slow Poke Class
This class is fun and unpredictable. You want to be the last running car across the finish line in each race. My youngest son has stuck to entering two cars. This month his 66 Chevy Nova made it into the final race and finished 3rd---Really 2nd, and got 6 points and 6 "free" dollars. He was within a half an inch of finishing last in the race.

Trucks Class
My youngest son won this class last month. We happened to find the same 09 Ford F-150 at our local K-Mart. We could tell it wasn't as fast as our other truck, but it was still fast. It made it to the final four race and it came home in 4th place. One point and one "free" dollar.

Muscle Car Class
I purchased a Nitty Gritty Kitty from E-Bay and paid around $5 with shipping and handling. This seemed to be a good car. My oldest son entered this car and blew all other cars away. I had the 67 Chevy Camero in the final race again and I ended up 4th for the 2nd straight month. My oldest son had his car garaged, got 10 points, and 10 "free" dollars. For me it was 1 point and 1 free dollar.

Super Stock Class
My son got a much wanted Ferrari F-40 from the tooth fair and entered it in this class. I had the newest Sooo Fast car. The Sooo fast car came home in 2nd place in the final four race and the Ferrari F-40 came home 3rd. I got 6 points and 6 "free" dollars and my son got 4 points and 4 "free" dollars.

FTE Class
The final class of the month and my oldest son was the only one that entered a Ferrari 458 Italia FTE. I expect to see many more next month as this car just smoked everyone else. It gets garaged, 10 points, and 10 "free" dollars.

At the end of the day, we had come home with 50+ new cars that we are now racing to see who is fast from that group to add to the mix.
