If you're new to modified diecast racing, this is the tournament for you. This race is limited to novice builders that have entered 10 modified tournaments or less over their career.
Are you a novice? You know if you are and if you feel like one. I'm not going to verify your status or anything. It's an honor system for this one. If you're a veteran of modding and racing, please sit this one out and enjoy the show. Lets level the playing field a bit by letting rookies race other rookies.
Nothing fancy here as far rules or format. Just a standard bracket with basic build restrictions.
If you've been hesitant to try mod racing because you're new(ish) and didn't want to race against all the grizzled vets, this race is good place to start. There is no cap to entries and we'll race what we get.

Race format and scoring
This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.
The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.
Bracket seeding will be random.
Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
Winner will receive a Redline Derby Axle Alignment Jig and get free return shipping for their entry.
