Track update 1

Fred, I'm sorry I didn't catch this thread when you posted a month ago.  I've watched both videos and I'm excited for you!  If you ever wanna talk about  your progress or if you have questions, please feel free to reach out.  Cheers, Mark H.

testing the first section

Got the snow run up and testing the drop... about 12" from start to finish on that section... looking good so far! The drag strip has room for 5 lanes of hot wheels track so I ordered a couple of boxes of 2 footers from Dollar Tree...

  • did they give a discount for buying boxes? — dr_dodge
  • nope... same price x quantity... no shipping if you pick up from store. — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • Is there going to be an open road course below the Snow Run and above the Dragway? — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
  • Yep... 3 sections — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • Turns out 4' of width isnt that much that is why I pushed the drag strip off onto a shelf... — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • Very nice! — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
  • The hill looks like bad news for the window. I still haven’t got the big picture. — alva1370
  • no worries... it will come together shortly! — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • open the window for added track...lol — dr_dodge
  • Well, you know I considered that! But the winters are mighty cold up here in the mountains! — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • That could be some very dramatic racing with varying weather conditions in turn 1 before coming back into a climate controlled area. — Dutch_Clutch_Racing

A side diversion... maybe? But it will ride the rails at The Blue Ridge Rallycross!

Rail Truck

The dry river bed leg is done and this is the test video... still needs painting but the stages will get painted as needed when they are put in position. Next up is the snake trail!

Whoopdies in progress

Whoopdies test

  • Looks like that last one is a truck/buggy track only. — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
  • Yeah, that really is the dilema... it that one spot keeps those cars from running, should I just go ahead and tweak it a bit and be able to run lots of different cars... — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • make an insert, held with magnets that drops in the bottom, now you have 2 tracks — dr_dodge
  • easy and not so much — dr_dodge
  • Insert is a cool idea! — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
  • I'll look at that as a compromise! Thanks! — Stoopid_Fish_Racing

track update and testing

Whoopdies and lumpty bumps

I finally got my track sections taken down and relocated to my new place in Florida... they survived the trailer ride mostly intact. I have them in a temporary location. The drop is steep but the speeds are incredible! lol

Nah, They will go in the upper room in my shop building... I will have to do alot of rework to fit them in the new space. Not sure how that will go but I am gathering wood for tables and supports.

Looking to get it set up by the fall... If I had Marks skill over at GTR it would just take a few weeks! lol

  • I'm super jealous of that building you have! — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
  • Thanks, it is a beauty... gonna need to put an air conditioner up there as it will be blazing hot in the summer... — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • Be great to see ! Good luck ! — CutRock_R_Marc_D
  • I think those cars are a little too big to fit on the track ....... :p I want to see a couple of pictures of them, too. — SpyDude
