While we refer to our toy cars as 1/64 scale, they are not actually to scale. So to relate the track to a real 1/4 mile scale would not be accurate. As others have mentioned, a longer track makes for a much more entertaining race to watch.
ditto, long track = come from behind wins !
Here's a track that we built for our foundation. We raise money to benefit kids with disablilities who are graduating from high school and need help transitioning. Diecast racing is something that is even, whether you have a disability or not. Our track has a 4ft drop over roughly 24ft - then an 8ft flat runoff - totaling 32ft. The built the aluminum support system to hold 4 lanes of blutrack. The start gate can either be operated by hand, or by a remote servo. We have The Judge as our electronic finish line, and a foam catch box at the end. We've used the tracks at two events so far and both times they were won by young children! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.-Travis
PS...the HW track on the left side is simply a return track for the winners to be roller back down to the start.
Wow...What a Track!!! Super cool...so how does the BluTrack Pro work with racing cars? There have been some mixed reviews about this product...with the lane width, and low dividers...but I personally think its pretty cool. Do you have any problems with the cars wrecking, or crossing the lanes, or wobbling too much? Post some videos or a link to YouTube so we can see this BEAST in zction!

We need more pictures of your FANTASTIC track showing us the details from the construction of the aluminum supports, to the starting box area, and the stop box...plus some video of this thing in action! This thing is super cool!

Yes, a very nice track indeed. I'd love to learn more about the aluminum frame and how that was put together. I think I want to use that instead of wood for my next track but not sure exactly how to go about it or what is needed tool-wise to even start.
Oh...and welcome to Redline Derby! Glad you found us and hope you continue to share stories about your club, racing and your tracks.
Smitty sent me some esses. Calvin and I tried putting them at the end of the track. Kinda cool.
... GO CAL GO...
GEE 442, I should have sent the 2 clear hoses that plug into the orange nipples on the uphill end of the sizzlers dual speed brake unit and the 2 black brake pedals...with a little more incline you would have to slow the cars just enough not to wipe-out but still win...fun at home... also you could set it up as I do but hold the cars with the brakes ... releasing them when someone rings a bell...
i have multiple - never to be used - "brakes"... i will send a pair west with your cops n' robbers car returns...
great looking track... great cause... first time I've seen the "grey" blu track...
