Where do you hunt for diecast?

Been to all the usual places but I have to say that our local Safeway and Dollar General have kicked out the best finds so far. We're on the road for a couple days so I'll be looking around travel centers etc. Today we're heading to a toy store before hitting the road.

Well actually we went to two toy stores here in Poulsbo Washington. The first toy store was pretty standard as far as toy stores go and the hot wheel selection was limited to a small tub of cars, but they did have a couple of nice ones, including a Foward control Jeep. 

but the second store downtown was pretty amazing. It was only a small display, but most of these were fairly special cars and the first car I picked up of the rack was an FTE. I was pretty shocked, but I would say 80% of the cars on this rack are collector cars and they are priced as collector cars. These are not price of a buck and a quarter or something like that. This guy knew what he had and is quite a collection prices arranged up to $15 for a car with a lot of them in the 3-4 and six dollar range. But as I mentioned, the selection was incredible. It was like shopping on eBay right in front of you on a rack. So I did pick up a few, including the FTE.

So I discovered this, I guess you could say "hidden gem" today; a dedicated diecast store in a warehouse complex in northern New Jersey (Passaic County to be exact). I tried calling the number associated with the Facebook page and listed on Google and receive no response. So taking some initiative, I decided to head there after work as the Google listing said they close at 5 PM. After driving around the warehouse complex for a solid 20 minutes I saw two guys walking into a car and I said, "hey do you know some guy that's selling hot wheels cars around here," while showing them my phone with a picture of the Google ad. To my surprise they responded that that guy was their boss, but he wasn't in today and to come back tomorrow (meaning today).

So I went back today. Found the entrance and man alive. This is diecast Mecca. as you can see in the pictures posted there is a lot of inventory. I met the owner. He said it's a family business that they mainly sell on Amazon, but he wanted to have a storefront so he rented the storage space in this warehouse for his Amazon store and converted a section of it to have foot traffic.

I was able to find stuff that I was searching for they had some super treasure hunts, Some treasure hunts, collection sets, etc.

The only major flaws I could find are that he doesnt carry mainline stuff (he does buy collections from people, but the "mainline area" was pretty slim), and the prices are teetering on the resale aspect. I bought a lot of stuff and I certainly paid a hefty price for it. But I will definitely be going back again.
