It's all in good fun smitty. Nothing wrong with guessing. Thats all we do in the fantasy league anyway! My comment about not checking the site was a joke, my site is pretty awful to navigate so I don't really expect anyone to look at it.
i didn't notice the web site notice, the slots filled so fast i just want to give a west coaster a shot... 3 hours late...
Been a busy week for me, so this got delayed until today. It was raced and then when I went to take pictures... my camera was dead! nooo!!! So sadly, due to time restrictions this week and how late I am in posting up the results... I won't be doing a huge write-up. Luckily, the racing was mostly one sided anyway. Not much to comment on.

Round 1 Recap:
The first round ended with only one race being marginally close. The Pontiac duel featured a personal favorite car of mine, the Pontiac Rageous, which has sadly come into this tournament as a rather aged car. While it still has speed and can compete with the big dogs, it has passed its prime. Still, "Y2K Bug" was one of 3 lucky cars to be part of the WorpeX.net banner image and represents our tournament despite its short comings! It's was against a brand spanking new car to the track: an all metal firebird! In the end, age proved to not be an issue! Only half a car length separated the two cars, but it was enough to pull a win for iowastockcars' Rageous!
The other 3 matches were easy wins. model40fan's Sweet 16 had no issues against the slow straight pipes and tastelikedirt's Ferrari 250 proved to be a tough force in this match as it defeated the defending champion, GspeedR's Mercedes SLK early. The two favorites in this heat had to battle it out in the first round: redlinederby's Ferrari F40 and EconoCarl's Studebaker Champ. In the end however, the Ferrari was much faster than the truck and was able to pull an easy win.

Round 2 Recap:
With all the brand new cars to the raceway out of the tournament early, we were left with 4 cars who have done a bit of racing on the track. The first race featured redlinederby's Ferrari F40, who was ranked at #22 on the ladder against model40fan's Sweet 16 ranked #53. In the end however, the Ferrari F40 showed that it was the car to beat in this tournament and took its second easy win.
On the other side of the bracket, the two veterans line-up! They don't know that they would be having the closest race thus far... On the top lane we had Rank #50, the tastelikedirt's Ferrari 250, up against iowastockcars' Pontiac Rageous ranked at #66. At the end of the first race, "Y2K Bug" won by just a fender on the bottom lane. The cars switch lanes for the second race but this time the Ferrari got a huge jump off the gate. Still, you should never underestimate the power of the underdog as the Rageous powered his way back up to just barely squeeze a tie. In this event, track rules demand a re-race and on the second run... the Rageous pulled off the upset by a fender again!

The Ferrari F40 saw no challenge from his opponent on the other side of the bracket. A clean sweep for the heavy metal car! redlinederby picks up his first win while he and his car will move on to the grand final! Awaiting him is a car which also won his bracket without challenge... GspeedR's Porsche 930!
In the player rankings, redlinederby slides into the lead due to his top pick in this heat and a semi-finalist in the previous! GspeedR holds onto second with iowastockcars right on their heels! Anything can happen still with 6 more heats to go!

I'm a little surprised by the picks for this round! I was expecting the Jaguar and Twin Mill to make an appearance as they are popular castings! I was also thinking that someone from Team Javelin would pick their mascot! However, I am excited for the Pontiac battle and its been awhile since i've seen that Mercedes roll so it'll be interesting to see how it fairs! A few top picks missing from the group though. I guess no one looked at Rank #2 on the worpex.net site!
