I'm really surprised no one jumped on that GT Racer early on. I read that it was super fast somewhere in the threads. I quickly picked the Aeroflash without taking a closer look. You should give Brian (RDR) the GT Racer if Fred's willing to bow out. I'd like to see how it fairs against all these other cars

I'll get the results up for this tomorrow, its too late at the moment and i'm tired! I will say this though... had I not done this tournament at the end of the day, the results would have been completely different! It took a little bit of time for the one car to finally dial in to the long track... at the start of the day it wobbled like crazy in the last 10ft and lost A LOT of speed. Between heats and races of the featherweight challenge, the kids and some of the adults did some practice races with random cars at the track. These were the only 8 I had with me, so they got a good deal of racing! So when the tournament was finally run, after it had ran a bunch of practice races.... it was almost untouchable!

Funny that the cars can "settle in".

Here it is! Week 3 on the 40 ft track in Carlisle PA! For kicks, I raced this on my own track after and the results were almost identical... besides one race! I'll mention that later on in the post. Going to do the results the same as last week as I like that the best. The "Race Rating" on this will be from the race on my track and not the 40ft one because it was simply too hard to judge on that track what the rating was because we used two lanes which were very far apart.

Race 1: Ford GT LM (tastelikedirt) vs IROC Firebird (WorpeX)
Race Rating: D (A on 40ft)
Winner: Ford GT LM(tastelikedirt)

Race 2: Krazy 8's (iowastockcars) vs Silver Bullet (JDC442)
Race Rating:
Winner: Silver Bullet (JDC442)

Race 3: '32 Ford Delivery (model40fan) vs Astin Martin (Jobe)
Race Rating: (A on 40ft)
Winner: Astin Martin(Jobe)

Race 4: DieselBoy (EconoCarl) vs GT Racer (redlinederby)
Race Rating: A
Winner: GT Racer(redlinederby)

Round 1 Recap:

The first race was a super tight duel on the short track between the Firebird and GT LM but the Ford edged out the win after going back and forth multiple times! On the long track however, it was no contest. The Firebird wasn't able to hold its speed on the straight and ended up shaking vigorously at the bottom of the track. The second race saw the Silver Bullet getting a clear win in both raceways and was the strongest racer of the 8 during the early part of the day in Carlisle! The jalopy Ford also was unable to handle the long track, but on the short track it was only a fender away from victory on both lanes! Lastly, the GT Racer was far too fast for the DieselBoy and absolutely crushed him without making it look difficult.

Round 2:

Race 5: Ford GT LM (tastelikedirt) vs Silver Bullet (JDC442)
Race Rating: D
Winner: Ford GT LM (tastelikedirt)

Race 6: Astin Martin (Jobe) vs GT Racer (redlinederby)
Race Rating: A
Winner: GT Racer(redlinederby)

Round 2 Recap:

In Carslile, on the 40ft track, WorpeX.net had 3 cars which were absolutely dominant. Not only did they defeat the large majority of foreign racers thrown at them, but they gave each other a hell of a race! It comes as no surprise that two of these would have an epic duel! The GT LM and Silver Bullet fought back and forth all day to be the dominant car but when the race was run, the GT LM had the edge and just barely squeezed the well earned victory on the long track! HOWEVER! When it came to short track racing... the Silver Bullet was king. These two cars are comparable in every way, but this round of the public choice tournament was "officially" on the 40ft track so the Silver Bullets short track win means little!

On the other end of the bracket, the GT Racer silently knocked out another car in an easy win.

GRAND FINAL!

Race 7: GT Racer (redlinederby) vs Ford GT LM (tastelikedirt)
Race Rating:
Winner: GT Racer (redlinederby)

While the car was poor early in the day on the 40 track and suffered from the same issue as the Firebird, that didn't stop it from winning late in the day. The car was dialed in perfectly at around 3:00pm after the Featherweight challenge and when this event was run. It's wobbling issue solved, it became unstoppable. This machine was in full force and nothing was able to beat it, not even the Ford GT LM! That does not mean it wasn't a close race however! Quite the contrary! The Ford put up a legendary effort and managed to make it a very close conclusion, but was unable to win. Congratulations to Redlinederby for getting a second car into the final 8!

Not a huge shake-up in the player rankings. redlinederby increases his lead while iowarstockcars and tastelikedirt catch-up to GspeedR and to tie it up for 2nd!

Player Rankings:
redlinederby: 12
GspeedR: 6
iowastockcars: 6
tastelikedirt: 6
Fast Fred: 4
model40fan: 4
Jobe: 4
Econocarl: 3
JDC442: 3
WorpeX: 1

@EconoCarl: All of your picks have been good too, just some unlucky match-ups!

Week 4 is now in session!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Row 1: '56 Chevy, Ferrari FF, Yur So Fast, Shadow Jet, Scorcher, MX48 Turbo, Challenger Drift Car
Row 2: Hyundai Spyder, Shoebox, Dodge Caravan, Splittin' Image, Limozeen, Zotic, Turbolence
Row 3: Ford GTX-I, Sentinel 400 Limo, Ferrari Italia 458, Rigor Motor, The Demon, MS-T Suzuka

Lotsa fantasy cars this time and not many real life ones... ah well! A whole bunch of good cars in this one, I have no idea what the fastest car would be out of this bunch!

I'm torn between three of those cars, but I'm gonna go with the Shadow Jet.

How long is your track?
