Your Fastest 5 Cars?
ooo yes, Forgot about the Jaguar XJ220! DEFINITELY one of the fastest cars. I have a whooping 4 of them on my standings list and 3 of them are in the top 70 (http://worpex.net/cartype.php?secondname=JAGUAR%20XJ220). The last one is damaged now, but used to be the fastest of the bunch at one point in time. Once I do a site overhaul, I plan to add in functionality for retired cars and that one will be on the list.
What year on the XJ220?

Collector #203...the original w/UltraHots was 1993, 'Gold Medal Speed' versions came out in `94-`95. My GMS version w/gold lace wheels and is slightly faster than the original. I'm going to have to dig out some later examples to see how they compare.
Nice list of cars GspeedR. That Ultra Hot XJ220 is one I haven't raced yet. Been in the package since '94, time to bust it out.

Thanks JDC442! I've already sent a #203 to Brian for a future fantasy league entry. I think it'll surprise a lot of people when it eventually shows up in the brackets.

The most recent one i've tried is 2001 and it was very quick... although that is a good year for hotwheels, haha. They actually have one out in the mainline right now, but its in a 5 pack of cars. I was thinking about picking it up, but I'm not a huge fan of the wheels they put on it. I haven't had much luck with them.
I cracked open a totally different batch of cars last night and have found several that will certainly challenge my current Top 5...pending testing, of coarse.
I found 6 cars from the 1993 25th Anniversary redline re-releases, including a 'Mongoose Funny Car' that appears to have #1 or #2 kinda speed. Heavy metal?...you bet!...'Whip Creamer', 'Sweet 16', 'Sidekick', and stays there! The 'Cat-A-Pult' used to be my favorite small Hot Wheel car...not any more.
Yeah, a lot of those cars I agree with being super fast. Sidekick, Sweet 16, Thomassima 3... the Lotus M250 seems sort of hit or miss to me. Sometimes you get a really good one, sometimes you get a really bad one.
I've never seen an Old #3 before... I might have to pick one up if I see one though. I do like the Cat-A-pult though and i've also always considered it to be one of the best small hot wheels car.
i narrowed the wheels on an old #3... it looked old... went ok .... notice it's spare, also used as BURL-ESQUE fronts... tall / skinny ... very thin contact footprint...you'ld think it would... but, i find that the factory narrowed wheels contact the outside of the axle...this tries to tilt or bind the wheel on the axle with the heavy cars, more friction... look where the early redlines and some b.w.s put the raised rib... inboard... hhmmmm !
try clicking your scale changer over to 1/64th should help...
I did some more testing this weekend on my 50' track.
My yellow Ferrari F40 is still my fastest stock car on the long track. It's smokin' fast.
Close behind are the black with gold wheels Testtarossa and Chrysler 300 FTE.
And right behind those a Ferrari 360 Modena and 355 or another F40.
Lots of Italians on the long track...
I thought I'd update my "5 Fastest Cars" list since I've tested almost 70 cars out of my collection, so far.
5. Saleen S7 - Unusually <wide> track & very aero-friendly, this car painful.
1. Shadow Jet - Not exactly my favorite 'style' of car, but....its scary fast, plain & simple.
My previous speed leaders, the 'El Rey' & 'Fast Felion', would easily hold their own with the Saleen & Jaguars but they don't seem to 'track' quite as well.
