About

I started collecting diecast cars last year and stumbled on the many racing videos.  It looked like a lot of fun, especially with the fat-track style. I wanted to make a long course with a few 180 degree turns to make the outcome unpredictable.  I also wanted it to be light weight in case I needed to move it around.  The track is supported with 1" x 4" boards along with 1/4 inch platforms.  The track begins with 12 feet (two lanes) of orange track before changing to Corroplast fat track.  The "Slingshot" term describes how the cars zip around the high bank turns for an overtake.

This track is capable of racing 2-8 cars per heat.  The 6-car heats are very exciting.  I hosted my first tournament December 13, 2020.  It was a success.  I'll host more.
