Jason from Texas Diecast Racing is leading an event of cross-country mod racing that I'm happy to be a part of as a circuit track. This event is not for the serious modders only as the event will be racing on several tracks as cars travel from city to city.

Here's the flyer with some details:
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

More details are over at the new TexasDiecastRacing.com site, check out and help build the forum. It looks like dates and deadlines are TBD.

I'm already working on vehicles and ideas...mmwhahahahaha

and I'm working on adding more tracks, lol.

Jason--Will all the cars be sent to you initially and then the track owners ship them from track to track in one box or back to you after the races?

Just wondering as this is a cool idea and wonder if my club track might be interested in a stop at our track, but we only have three opportunities left--2nd Saturday of a month through November before starting again in November.

How are the averages being determined since its a single elimination?? Can you race against someone from your own team?

We may have another track added to the list..... waiting for details.

Yes, all of the cars will be shipped to me. I'll pack them all into one box and that box will bounce from track to track.

I'd love to have another stop on the circuit. I just have to schedule the races to assure the cars can be on time for the next race. I'm looking at an early to mid October starting date, so the second week of November is definitely possible.

Here's the way the scoring is going to work:

--I'll provide a bracket sheet for each stop. The cars will be filled in randomly, but team integrity will be maintained.
--No teammates will be paired in the first round. (I suggest breaking the bracket down into four quadrants and adding one team car per quadrant. If teammates meet, it will be in the semi-final or final round)
--Teammates can meet in remaining rounds.
--There is currently a 16 car field. The first place car will receive 16 points and the 16th place car will get one point.

If your team's cars finish in places 1st, 5th, 9th and 11th, you'll get 16 points for 1st, 12 points for 5th, 8 points for 9th and 6 points for 11th. A total of 42 points for the event and a team average of 10.5 points. If team two finished in 3rd, 6th, 8th and 10th they would have 41 points and a team average of 10.25.

If for any reason there is a tie, the tie breaker will go the the team with the highest finishing place.

Run off races will need to be ran to establish a full ranking. I'll provide a second bracket sheet for the run offs.

On tracks with timers, finishing orders will be determined by elapsed times. The fastest eight cars will advance to the second round. The fastest four from the second round will advance to the third round, and so on.

No cars to send in as my attempts at modding cars only nets me a slower car but... I would like to volunteer my track to be part of the circuit. Its roughly a 1:64 scale 1/4 mile track (~20 feet) custom made from the Dragtracks kit. Its got a short drop (~16") and a long flat run. Endurance wins here. The fastest cars take 3.6 seconds to finish. The slow ones crawl and barely trip the finish line lights. The bad ones dont even make it. If I hadnt just put it away I'd send pics.

Cars from three of the teams are here. My cars are ready and I'm sure Bryan's should be done by now... lol. That just leaves one team to join the group. I'm sure they'll be here soon.

Full preview and report will be posted at texasdiecastracing.com
