442s from the 70s

JDC442 Thursday, 3/15/2012

I finally found a Maxi Taxi (cheap on eBay) to replace my original from childhood. I'd tried for some time, but usually out of my price range. So happy
Now with Calvin's Fire Chief and the Police Cruiser I got along with it, I now have the trio of 70s 442s I've wanted for a long time.

Here is the original. For some reason I decided to try and remove the paint with one of my dads metal files.

Here are a couple more 70 redlines I picked up this last year. Kinda rough, but I just love these old cars. Brings me back to when I was newly introduced to these amazing collectibles. Gotta love the 70s!!!

That's a nice trio of 442's!

Very nice.

I have a habit of buying all the Stagefrights I find, lol.

jason calls it a habit, my doctor would call owning (82) A-OK's sick !

I'd love to be able to own all of the 442s from the Redline Era, but they're just too darn expensive. The Army Staff car runs about $700 mint and the 1971 released 442 starts at about $500

I gave my only Stage Fright away to a fellow collector who had lost his. It was his favorite childhood Hot Wheel so I let mine go. Now I kinda miss it myself.

Having the Stage Fright back in my collection is kinda like seeing an old friend come home after a long time
