A.I., or idiocy?

FeralPatrick Wednesday, 1/15/2025

Came across a YT video highlighting the new 2025 Plymouth GTX. I was pretty psyched... till I hit "play". This was the first image. See any issues? lol

don't search

"trimed Japanese Bushes"

unless you want to explain the mess on the computer to your wife...

  • I'd snap these up for a dollar on the pegs. Fewer food & animal cars would be a good direction — Chris_Hood

AI bullshit. Plymouth is as dead as the woolly mammoth & has been for quite a while too.

Yah know I remember when art wasn't overpopulated with this ai shenanigans. As someone who genuinely loves painting, seeing todays art scene be over saturated with things created by ai is just stupid.

That's  a CGI altered Lamborghini Countach. The slimeball scammer that put that up isn't worth feeding to the worms.

A.I. has many positive uses in producing a racing show, that said, heavens to murgatroyd what hilarious heresy!!

  • I think for "sales flyers" and simple promo materials AI can save a bunch of time, and with effort, can produce a decent product, but AI gen art is not art (AI music, too — dr_dodge
  • Doc, were you trying to say "thumbnail images" in all of that? Jim at Indiana Diecast Racing is presenting some good stuff with A.I. that way. Some hosts are going this route with voice tracks and I'm cool with that because there is only one Theodore Braves and everyone truthfully does pale before him behind the mic. Real music costs money and even the free library's available selections might not have the right fit for a host. Solid bet I've been hearing artificial music and never noticing. I applaud the stance for authenticity, and respect a host making use of assistance if that's what will work for their show within the scope of their resources. Just. . .no historical or religious figures made out of sea life, that much is right out — Chris_Hood
  • yea, using it for that stuff is find, but to have someone AI construct a painting, and pass it off like it is their own original artwork is a different story — dr_dodge
  • 100% there Doc. I keep hearing whispers of YT applying some viewer-facing label on a video if it has artificial content, and fear that if such content makes the platform money they'll decide to look the other way. We will have to stay frosty and up our vigilance game! — Chris_Hood
  • The current version of AI is useful in some areas but is creeping into everything slowly. As a part time author I’m working on my 3rd book and MS Copilot (AI) keeps wanting to ‘help me’ and I keep saying no so I don’t have to check the check box in Amazon Kindle publisher. Now I did find current AI helpful in digging up some old west history - but I did then verify any of the information used to be historically correct. — AbbyNormal
  • I search lost/stolen history, and it's ability to find "the real actual" works in antiquity is poor at best — dr_dodge

It is a cool concept still, though.

You riled up my curiosity with this one.

592 videos in 213 days, that math ain't mathin'!!

I stand by what I said regarding how our little car racing shows can be polished up in areas, this whole channel could be slop-infested to get those numbers, from only a cursory examination. Chicanery and deception, with a side of malfeasance, and not the first of such I've encountered on YouTube

  • Preach it bro! It's hard to find the diamonds for all the dung! — Benjamin_37
  • There's a teeny disclaimer at the beginning, blink and you'll miss it. I can only hope lawyers get involved with a swift C&D and take the channel down. — Chris_Hood
  • Don't forget a healthy dollop of bullshit too. — Benjamin_37

who's to say it can't be a bit of both?

Fooled me a few times. Now that I know it's out there it's like a little game to make the call, an easy little game.

  • always look at the fingers, intake stacks, and exhausts, so a 6 fingered dude is driving something with 11 stacks, and 8 header pipes....lol11 s — dr_dodge
