So, this weekend I was yard sale n' and besides about 100+ ft of hw track and accessories

I also bought this for $1

thought it was some simple camera, apparently it's WAY more than that

It also has programed object recognition in it, AI and the camera module is capable of 1080/30

Could this be used to score cars? multipoint times per car? even "auto update" the drivers board?

I am a bit blown away after reading about it. I think the pi comunity is very helpful, with lots of open code already written. I already have 2 pi's I bought and never messed with.

Anyone familiar with this?

UPDATE;

kit assembly simple and straight forward,
took about 45min - hour, including flasing the sd
thin ribbon connectors (yuck)

now to learn how this thing works

Well, besides being $100 when new, it looks like it has many potential uses. It is now discontinued, but that doesn't mean there isn't support out there for it. Looks like it might be a fun project to see if you can get it to follow cars or "see" when cars cross the finish line... good find!

That's a new one on me but it seems pretty versatile from what I read. Can't wait to see if/how this turns out! Great buy!
